Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for enhanced user equipment (UE) capability exchange for transitioning a connection from a first radio access technology system to a second radio access technology system. An exemplary method performed by a UE includes communicating with a first base station (BS) via a connection of a first radio access technology (RAT), determining, based on the first RAT, to omit a set of capabilities of the UE from capabilities information of the UE regarding a second RAT, transmitting the capabilities information of the UE regarding the second RAT to the first BS via the first RAT, communicating with a second BS via the second RAT according to the capabilities information, and sending an update of the capabilities information of the UE regarding the second RAT via the second RAT.

Abstract: Aspects are provided which allow a UE to trigger initiation of an SR procedure in response to a decrease in an amount of received data or uplink grants following a measurement gap. The UE receives data from a first base station. The UE performs a measurement of a downlink signal from a second base station based on a measurement configuration. The UE transmits a scheduling request in response to a decrease in at least one of an amount of received downlink data or a number of received grants to transmit uplink data after the measurement is performed. As a result, inefficient data stalls caused by erroneous DRX determinations by a base station may be avoided.

Abstract: Wireless communication systems and methods related to Radio Link Control (RLC) status reporting are provided. A wireless communication device receives one or more radio link control (RLC) packet data units (PDUs) of a sequence of RLC PDUs. The wireless communication device determines missing RLC data PDUs in the sequence of RLC PDUs based on the received one or more RLC PDUs. The wireless communication device receives a first uplink (UL) grant. The wireless communication device transmits a first RLC status report including an indication of a first subset of the missing RLC PDUs less than all the missing RLC PDUs, the indication of the first subset of missing PDUs being based on a size of the first UL grant. The wireless communication device modifies a RLC status prohibit timer based on the transmitted first RLC status report indicating less than all the missing RLC PDUs.

Abstract: The disclosure provides for a user equipment (UE) handling radio link control (RLC) reset in wireless communications. Various techniques are described wherein RLC reset procedures are associated with various triggering conditions and predetermined time periods at RLC. Delays for initiation and execution of the RLC reset procedures are also described. In an aspect, the UE determines that at least one data unit to be received over a first logical channel is yet to be received by the UE and that there is data traffic over a second logical channel with higher priority than the first logical channel. In another aspect, the UE delays initiation of an RLC reset on a condition that the UE determines that at least one data unit is yet to be received over the first logical channel and that there is data traffic over the second logical channel.
