    Abstract: A patient interface structure includes a cushion configured to sealingly engage the patient's face and a front that is more rigid than the cushion. The cushion includes a forward opening, a rearward opening that is opposite the forward opening and a continuous sealing surface. The continuous sealing surface has a mouth sealing portion configured to seal around the patient's mouth and a nasal sealing portion configured to seal around both of the patient's nasal airways. The front plate includes an air inlet configured to both receive the pressurized respiratory gas and secure headgear to the patient interface structure. In addition, the nasal sealing portion includes at least one aperture that is separate from the rearward opening. Also, the front plate, the mouth sealing portion and the nasal sealing portion together form a common chamber.

    Abstract: A mask assembly adapted for use with a positive airway pressure device, includes a mask frame, an elbow assembly provided to the frame, a cushion provided to the frame, a forehead support assembly, and a neck to connect the frame to the forehead support assembly, wherein the neck includes a pair of side walls having a streamlined design that is made to look sleek and reduce or minimize obtrusiveness. The pair of side walls may take the form of a single wall or more than two walls. The mask frame may include a recessed port structure including at least one port having access to an interior of the frame which at least in part with the cushion defines a breathing chamber in communication with a nasal passage of the patient in use. The mask frame may also include a channel to receive the cushion. The channel is formed by an outer wall and an inner wall and the channel includes an inner surface having a bead to engage with an outer surface of an edge of the cushion. The forehead support assembly includes a forehead support and a forehead pad coupled to the forehead support. The elbow assembly includes an elbow connectable to the mask frame. A cover is releasably connectable to the elbow. The cover includes a venting area including a plurality of vent holes.

    Abstract: A head-mounted display system includes a positioning and stabilising structure structured and arranged to hold a display unit in an operational position over a user's face in use and an interfacing structure for the display unit constructed and arranged to be in opposing relation with the user's face. The interfacing structure comprises a substantially continuous face engaging surface adapted to contact the user's face around a periphery of the user's eyes. The interfacing structure comprises silicone. The interfacing structure is configured and arranged such that force applied to the user's face is distributed around the periphery thereof. The interfacing structure comprises a first compliance at a first region and a second compliance at a second region, wherein the first region and the second region are configured around the periphery of the interfacing structure to allow selective distribution of the force onto the user's face.
