Abstract: A cushion assembly for a patient interface including an elastomeric support portion and an elastomeric seal-forming structure supported by the elastomeric support portion that is more rigid than the elastomeric seal-forming structure. The elastomeric seal-forming structure includes a first compliant region and a second compliant region separated from the first compliant region by a support region that is more rigid than the first and second compliant regions. The more rigid support region extends to and is anchored by the elastomeric support portion. In addition, for every point in the rigid support region, the inner surface has a negative curvature when the outer surface has a positive curvature and the inner surface has a positive curvature when the outer surface has a negative curvature.

Abstract: A respiratory assistance component is disclosed that changes shape when an electrical charge is provided. The amount of electrical charge that is applied may be based on values, characteristics, or user controlled parameters of the respiratory assistance system. The component may be all or part of a patient interface, a tube, a flow generator, and/or a sleep mat.

Abstract: A patient interface includes a hollow base with an air inlet configured to be connected to an air delivery tube and receive the pressurized flow of respiratory gas. The hollow base further includes a pair of nozzles extending from the hollow base. Each nozzle is configured to receive the pressurized flow of respiratory gas from a respective one of the pair of air outlets. A continuous flexible adhesive strip of material configured to adhere to a side of the patient's nose and support the hollow base and the pair of nozzles on the patient's face to form a sealed airpath from the hollow base to the patient's nasal airways. The hollow base comprises a first portion from which the pair of nozzles extend and a second portion that is attachable to the air delivery tube. The second portion is more rigid than the first portion.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a patient interface for sealed delivery of a flow of air at a continuously positive pressure with respect to ambient air pressure to an entrance to the patient's airways includes collecting anthropometric data of a patient's face. Anticipated considerations are identified from the collected anthropometric data during use of the patient interface. The collected anthropometric data is processed to provide a transformed data set based on the anticipated considerations, the transformed data set corresponding to at least one customised patient interface component. At least one patient interface component is modelled based on the transformed data set.

Abstract: A patient interface for treating sleep disorder breathing includes a headgear tube that provides support for the seal forming structure. The headgear tube includes a patient-contacting portion and a non-patient contacting portion that are joined along seams to form a gas passageway. The headgear tube may comprise a textile material and/or a foam material. Portions of the headgear tube may be imparted with greater rigidity than other portions.

Abstract: A patient interface includes a hollow base with an air inlet configured to receive the pressurized flow of respiratory gas in a first direction. The hollow base further includes a pair of air outlets configured to discharge the pressurized flow of respiratory gas in a second direction that is substantially parallel to the first direction. The patient interface also includes a pair of nasal posts. Each nasal post is removably connected to a respective air outlet of the hollow base and is configured to sealingly engage one of the patient's nostrils. In addition, the patient interface includes an adhesive support configured to support the hollow base and nasal posts on the patient's face. The adhesive support is configured to adhere to the patient's nose. An end of each nasal post comprises a ring configured to interlock with the respective air outlet to secure the nasal post with the air outlet.
