    摘要: A biometric firearms safety system includes a firearm that has a grip and an action. A fingerprint unit is coupled to the firearm. The fingerprint unit is positioned on the grip to read fingerprints from a user. The fingerprint unit stores fingerprints from an authorized user. A locking unit is coupled to the firearm. The locking unit engages the action such that the locking unit inhibits the action from is manipulated. Thus, the locking unit inhibits the firearm from is loaded and fired. The locking unit is electrically coupled to the fingerprint unit. The locking unit disengages from the action when the user's fingerprints match the authorized user's fingerprints. Thus, the locking unit facilitates the user to load and fire the firearm.

    摘要: A reactor for an in-situ production of a chemical product in high yield are presented. The reactor, which may be placed in a main solvent, includes an agglomerate of reactants and a gel-forming material. The gel-forming material forms a gelatinous structure when contacted by the main solvent (e.g., water), and allows controlled permeation of the main solvent to the reactants. The reactants dissolve in the main solvent and react to produce a target product. The target product leaves the reactor through the colloidal gel wall at a controlled rate. A high concentration of the reactant is maintained in the chamber formed by the gelatinous structure, resulting in a higher yield of the target product than if the reactants were directly added to a large body of main solvent.

    摘要: An improved oxidizing composition and a method of preparing it are presented. The improved oxidizing composition includes a halogen component and a reactive core that generates a desired oxidizing product. The reactive core generates one or more preselected oxidizing products when contacted by a main solvent, and an oxidizing solution is released. The oxidizing solution contains the generated oxidizing product(s) and a free halogen from the halogen component. The oxidizing composition may be used to treat bodies of water such as pool and spa and to bleach materials. Some examples of the halogen component include calcium hypochlorite, trichloroisocyanurate, dichloroisocyanurate, lithium hypochlorite, dibromo-dimethylhydantoin, bromo-chloro-dimethylhydantoin, sodium bromide, sodium chloride, and a combination thereof.
