Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for neighbor discovery and wireless inter-connection in a wireless communication system. A method for operating a base station (BS) in the wireless communication network includes generating measurement information regarding neighboring BSs of the BS in the wireless communication network; determining a first parent BS of the neighboring BSs to connect to based on the measurement information; performing an initial access procedure with the first parent BS to connect to the first parent BS; identifying an end-to-end route for the BS for transfer of data between a user equipment (UE) and a gateway via the wireless communication network; and transferring the data between the gateway and the UE based on the identified end-to-end route.

The method comprises determining, by a processor operatively coupled to the radar sensor, a change of an elevation angle and a rate of change of the elevation angle of the user with respect to the radar sensor, based on the reflections from the at least two points on the body of the user. The method comprises determining changes of a radar cross-section (RCS) associated with the body of the user along an elevation dimension. The method comprises determining whether a fall event occurred based on at least one of: the rate of change and the change of the elevation angle, or the changes of the RCS.

Abstract: A method includes identifying a zone blocked from line of sight (LOS) of a gNB; receiving a 3D spatial map of a first area including the zone and a second area that surrounds the zone and that is within both a coverage area and the LOS of the gNB; determining whether the second area includes a mountable surface to which a passive RF reflective metasurface is attachable; and determining whether the metasurface, if attached to the mountable surface, generates a reflection path to the zone, based on a determination that the second area includes the mountable surface and based on estimated propagation paths from the gNB to the zone. The method includes determining whether to add a metasurface to the second area based on: a determination result whether the reflection path from the metasurface attached to the mountable surface to the zone includes reflected signals satisfying a threshold bandwidth condition.

The method also includes, in response to determining that a triangulation technique is to be performed, (i) obtaining differential range estimates using the carrier phase estimates and (ii) determining a second location estimate of the target device using the triangulation technique and the differential range estimates. The method also includes combining the first location estimate and the second location estimate to determine an overall location estimate of the target device.

The processor regulates a transmit power in a direction of an earth station or a predefined receiver by: calculating a power flux density for the BS to the earth station or the predefined receiver; calculating an equivalent antenna gain for other base stations; calculating a directional power back-off level for the other base stations with respect to the earth station or the predefined receiver; generating a restricted precoding matrix indicator based on the calculated directional power back-off level; generating an N1-N2 bitmap for the BS; and applying the N1-N2 bitmap for signal transmission to at least one UE. The N1-N2 bitmap is generated based on: physical parameters of the earth station of the predefined receiver; physical parameters of the BS; an operator input metric; or restricted precoding matrix indicator.

Abstract: A method includes obtaining input features based on network traffic received during a time window. The method also includes generating multiple network service type predictions about the network traffic during the time window using a machine learning (ML) classification system operating on the input features. The method also includes storing the multiple network service type predictions in different time steps in a first-in first-out (FIFO) buffer and generating decisions about a presence of each of multiple service types in the network traffic using a voting algorithm. The method also includes reducing fluctuations in the generated decisions using a logic-based stabilizer module to generate a final network service type decision.

Abstract: An indoor positioning method includes scanning for registered Wi-Fi nodes with known coordinates to generate a list of the registered Wi-Fi nodes.
