    Abstract: An apparatus includes a transceiver configured to receive, over a wireless communication channel, at least one controlled-noise signal. The apparatus also includes a processor, operatively coupled to the transceiver. The processor is configured to train, based on the at least one controlled-noise signal, a noise prediction model for the wireless communication channel, and generate, based on the trained noise prediction model, a noise prediction for the wireless communication channel. The processor is also configured to determine, based on the received at least one controlled-noise signal and the noise prediction, a score function for the wireless communication channel.

    Abstract: A method includes calibrating, at a wireless device, a wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) chipset-level timer based on a time synchronization function (TSF) frame received from a Wi-Fi access point. The method also includes performing, at the wireless device, a coarse synchronization of a microcontroller-level or CPU-level timer based on the calibrated Wi-Fi chipset-level timer. The method further includes performing, at the wireless device, a fine synchronization of the microcontroller-level or CPU-level timer after the coarse synchronization. The fine synchronization is performed according to a first time scale measured in first time units and the coarse synchronization is performed according to a second time scale measured in second time units that are a multiple of the first time units.

    Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for precoding matrix indicator (PMI)-based data beam nulling with a channel state information (CSI) report. An apparatus includes a transceiver configured to communicate via a wired or wireless communication medium and a processor coupled to the transceiver. The processor is configured to identify restricted PMI beams in a nulling direction for supported ranks; receive, via the transceiver from a user equipment (UE), a CSI report including a rank, a PMI, and channel quality indicator (CQI) feedback; and determine whether the reported PMI is restricted. The processor is further configured to select an alternative PMI among a number of unrestricted PMIs for the reported rank; boost a reported CQI if a reduced transmit power is configured; and select a modulation coding scheme (MCS) and generate a precoder for a data beam based on at least one of: the CSI report, the alternative PMI, and the boosted CQI.

    Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for synchronization signal (SS) block index and timing indication in wireless communication systems. A method of operating a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station (BS), sets of higher-layer configuration information. When configured for mobility measurement on SS and physical broadcast channel (PBCH) (SS/PBCH) blocks, the UE identifies, based on one of the sets of higher-layer configuration information, a first set of SS/PBCH blocks configured for the mobility measurement; and measures and reports mobility measurement quantities for the first set of SS/PBCH blocks. When configured for receiving a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), the UE identifies, based on another of the sets of higher-layer configuration information, a second set of SS/PBCH blocks configured for the UE; and receives the PDSCH with rate matching around a SS/PBCH block included in the second set of SS/PBCH blocks.
