An apparatus for estimating cardiovascular information includes: a main body; and a strap connected to the main body and formed to be flexible to be wrapped around an object, wherein the main body may include: a pulse wave measurer configured to measure, from the subject, a first pulse wave signal by using a first light of a first wavelength, and a second pulse wave signal by using a second light of a second wavelength, the first wavelength being different from the second wavelength; a contact pressure measurer configured to measure a contact pressure between the object and the pulse wave measurer; and a processor configured to extract a cardiovascular characteristic value based on the first pulse wave signal, the second pulse wave signal, and change in the contact pressure, and estimate cardiovascular information based on the extracted cardiovascular characteristic value.

The apparatus for estimating bio-information according to an embodiment includes: an ultrasonic sensor configured to acquire a bio-signal from an object; and a processor configured to detect peaks from the bio-signal, and to determine false detection of a peak, among the detected peaks, by using at least one of a time interval between a current peak and an immediately preceding peak, amplitudes of the current peak and the immediately preceding peak, a shape of a waveform on a left region and a right region of the peak, and an occurrence position of the peak.

The present disclosure relates to technology for estimating bio-information by using a foldable electronic device. The foldable electronic device includes a main body part, having a first main body and a second main body, configured to fold along a folding line; a first sensor provided on the first main body, and configured to obtain a contact image of an object of a user; a second sensor provided on the first main body, and configured to measure a degree of folding of the main body part; and a processor configured to estimate bio-information of the user, based on the contact image of the object and the degree of folding.
