Abstract: A wireless communication device (10) controls changing of a connection of the wireless communication device (10) to an access node (100) of the wire-less communication network between: a relay based connection to the access node (100), and either a direct connection to the access node (100) or another relay based connection to the access node (100). The relay based connection extends via a device-to-device communication link (30) between the wireless communication device (10) and a first further wireless communication device (40). The other relay based connection extends via another device-to-device communication link (30′) between the wireless communication device (10) and a second further wireless communication device (40′). Further, the wireless communication (10) sends an indication to the access node (100). The indication enables the access node (100) to identify an existing Packet Data Convergence Protocolcontext, which was utilized before changing the connection, and to continue utilizing the existing PDCP context after the changing of the connection.

Abstract: A user equipment (10) is operable in a first mode in which the user equipment (10) is configured for communication with a first cellular network (30) and a second mode in which the user equipment (10) is configured for communication with a second cellular network (40). Mode switching between the modes is performed autonomously by the user equipment (10) or under the control of a cellular network node. The user equipment (10) has a first power consumption when operating in the first mode and a second power consumption when operating in the second mode, the second power consumption being different from the first power consumption.

Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium having instructions to obtain extended discontinuous reception (DRX) parameters from a wireless network; store the extended DRX parameters; camp on a cell of the wireless network; wake up from an idle state based on the extended DRX parameters, wherein the device wakes up at a time, prior to a paging occasion, wherein a time period from the time to the paging occasion has a duration during which the device can perform a cell reselection procedure, and subsequently, a tracking area update; measure a metric of the cell in response to a wake up; and monitor a scheduled paging occasion, wherein the scheduled paging occasion is a paging occasion that is first to occur subsequent to the wake up.

Abstract: A method carried out in a terminal (100) for setting up a connection with a wireless communication network including a network node (10), comprising transmitting terminal preference data (51) to the radio network, said terminal preference data indicating terminal preference to receive one of direct or indirect downlink transmission when the terminal (100) operates over a relay in the uplink; transmitting a service request (54) to the network node (10) over a relay (200); receiving information (57) from the network node (10) indicating direct or indirect downlink data transmission; receiving resource data (58) for a connection configured according to said information.
