Abstract: A wireless telecommunications system including a terminal device; first infrastructure equipment operable to communicate with the terminal device using a first radio access technology (RAT) and second infrastructure equipment operable to communicate with the terminal device using a second RAT. During a handover procedure for handover from the first infrastructure equipment as a source master infrastructure equipment to a third infrastructure equipment as a target master infrastructure equipment, the second infrastructure equipment is operable to communicate with the third infrastructure equipment using an interface associated with the second RAT so as to allow information necessary for completing the handover to be exchanged between the first infrastructure equipment and the third infrastructure equipment via the second infrastructure equipment.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for determining a position of a terminal device (110) in a wireless communication system (100). According to the method, a first message (130-133) is broadcasted by the terminal device (110). The first message (130-133) comprises a positioning request and a terminal identifier identifying the terminal device (110). The first message (130-133) is received at a group of neighboring devices (120-123). Each neighboring device of the group of neighboring devices (120-123) is located within a wireless radio communication range of the terminal device (110). From one or more neighboring devices (120, 121) of the group of neighboring devices (120-123) a corresponding second message (140, 141) is transmitted to location server (103) of the wireless communication system (100). The second message (140, 141) comprises the terminal identifier and an indication that the terminal device (110) requested a positioning. For each neighboring device (120, 121) of the one or more neighboring devices a corresponding position information is determined. The position of the terminal device (110) is determined at the location server (103) based on the position of the one or more neighboring devices (120, 121).

Abstract: Embodiments of the present technique can provide a mobile device and a method of establishing a connection via a core network by a mobile terminal. The method comprises receiving by the mobile terminal in a first cell an identifier assigned by a node in a first core network of a first type, the identifier comprising an identifier of the node or a group of nodes in the first core network, selecting a second cell in which service via a core network of a second type is available, and determining whether service via a core network of the first type is available from the second cell. The method further comprises establishing a connection via the second cell by transmitting a message including a first indication, the first indication based on at least a portion of the identifier, and when service via a core network of the first type is not available from the second cell, transmitting in the message a second indication, the second indication indicating that the identifier was received from a core network different from the second type, without identifying the first type of core network.
