Further, the method includes identifying whether the first S-NSSAI is available or not available. Further, the method includes transmitting, to the AMF entity, a registration request message including a second S-NSSAI based on the identification. Further, the registration request message does not include the first S-NSSAI.

In an embodiment, the method includes enabling the disaster roaming service at UE and allowing UE to select the PLMN for using the disaster roaming service during the disaster condition in response to determining that disaster roaming is enabled in UE.

The method comprises: receiving, by a UE radio Capability Management Function (UCMF), a request for assigning a URC-ID corresponding to a URC information of a UE from an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) or a Mobility Management Entity (MME); determining, by the UCMF, whether the URC information is received in at least one of a first format and a second format; and performing, by the UCMF, one of: accepting the request for assigning the URC-ID in response to determining one of a) the URC information is received in both the first and the second formats, and b) the URC information is received in the first format and the URC information in the first format is available in a database associated with the UCMF, and assigning the respective URC ID to the UE, and rejecting the request for assigning the URC-ID in response to determining a) the URC information is not received in both the first format and the second format, and b) the URC information is received only in the first format and the URC information in the first format is not available in the database associated with the UCMF.

A method for handling Service Request (SR) procedure in a wireless network by a network apparatus is provided. The method includes initiating a User Equipment Configuration Update (UCU) procedure. Further, the method includes determining whether the SR message comprises a User Equipment (UE) request type Information Element (IE) set to “Non-Access Stratum (NAS) signaling connection release”. In an embodiment, the method includes aborting the UCU procedure and processing the SR procedure in response to determining that the service request message comprises the UE request type IE set to “NAS signaling connection release”. In another embodiment, the method includes processing both the UCU procedure and the SR procedure in response to determining that the SR message does not comprises the UE request type IE set to “NAS signaling connection release”.-
