The method includes receiving a reject cause message from a first public land mobile network (PLMN) in response to a transmission of a registration request message to the first PLMN, re-attempting the transmission of the registration request message to one of the first PLMN and a second PLMN, receiving registration accept message from one of the first PLMN and the second PLMN in response to the re-attempting, and resetting a counter maintained for the first PLMN by the UE.

Abstract: A method for managing an extended Discontinuous Reception (eDRX) in a User Equipment (UE) including determining, by the UE, as to whether an eDRX enablement avoidance criterion is met, and causing, by the UE, to stop sending a request message, which is configured to enable the eDRX, to a network entity when the eDRX enablement avoidance criterion is met. The eDRX enablement avoidance criterion may include one of a data transmission pattern, a historic eDRX usage pattern, whether a configurable retry timer is deactivated, whether a number attempts made to enable the eDRX exceeds a threshold, whether a number of attempts made to enable and disable the eDRX exceeds a threshold, whether a request accept message including an indication that eDRX is not supported, is received from the network entity, or whether an indication of no eDRX support is received from the network entity may be provided.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). A method for handling communication in a wireless network by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes receiving a non-access stratum (NAS) message indicating that the UE is not permitted to access a first public land mobile network (PLMN) over a satellite communication along with geographical indication or a timer indication from the first PLMN. Further, the method includes determining a geographical area based on the received geographical indication or a timer value based on the timer indication. Further, the method includes starting a timer with the timer value. Further, the method includes determining that the UE is not allowed to access the first PLMN in the determined geographical area or the expiry of the timer. Further, the method includes performing a PLMN selection and registration procedure on a second PLMN based on the determination.

Methods and systems for handling encoding of radio capability information of UE using RACS. A method disclosed herein includes encoding radio capability information of a user equipment (UE) in formats of multiple radio access technologies (RATs) that have been supported by a public land mobile network (PLMN) in which the UE is registered. The method further includes assigning a radio capability identifier (RAC-ID) to the UE for signalling the radio capability information encoded in the multiple formats across the multiple RATs. The method further includes encoding the radio capability information in a specific format of the indicated RAT and assigning the RAC-ID to the UE for signalling the radio capability information and the associated encoding format.-

Abstract: Methods and systems for managing AMF re-allocation is provided. The method for managing AMF reallocation during UE registration procedure with a 5G network comprises: determining if the first AMF may send a routing assistance information to the UE, on the first AMF determining that the first AMF is not a right AMF to serve the UE; sending a routing assistance information, to the UE, as response to a first registration request message; receiving routing assistance information from the first AMF; sending a second registration request message to a 5G RAN of the 5G network comprising a portion of content included in the routing assistance information; and routing the second registration request message to a second AMF of the 5G network, wherein the second AMF is determined by the 5G RAN based on the portion of content included in the routing assistance information.
