Methods and systems for handling encoding of radio capability information of UE using RACS. A method disclosed herein includes encoding radio capability information of a user equipment (UE) in formats of multiple radio access technologies (RATs) that have been supported by a public land mobile network (PLMN) in which the UE is registered. The method further includes assigning a radio capability identifier (RAC-ID) to the UE for signalling the radio capability information encoded in the multiple formats across the multiple RATs. The method further includes encoding the radio capability information in a specific format of the indicated RAT and assigning the RAC-ID to the UE for signalling the radio capability information and the associated encoding format.-

Embodiments herein disclose a method of handling a paging message on a multi-subscriber identity module (SIM) user equipment (UE), the method comprising: receiving a paging message over a 3GPP access for a pending downlink data, wherein the pending downlink data is to be sent over a non-3GPP access; determining whether to re-establish user-plane resources over a 3GPP access using at least one protocol data unit (PDU) session of the non-3GPP access based on the paging message; and performing one of: responding to the paging message in response to determining that the user-plane resources are to be re-established using at least one PDU session of the non-3GPP access over the 3GPP access and not responding to the paging message in response to determining the user-plane resources are not to be re-establish using at least one PD U session of the non-3GPP access over the 3GPP access.

Abstract: Accordingly, embodiments herein disclose a method for handling a closed access group (CAG) related procedure in a wireless communication system. A network may receive a radio resource control (RRC) resume request message from a user equipment (UE). The network may determine whether the at least one CAG identifier (ID) broadcasted in a CAG cell is included in an allowed CAG list of the UE (100) in response to the RRC resume request message. The network may proceed with a RRC resume procedure in response to determining that the at least one CAG ID is included in the allowed CAG list.

Further, the method includes reading, by the multi SIM UE, the paging message from the first SIM network and determining, by the multi SIM UE, that a higher priority service is on-going on the second SIM network; and managing, by the multi SIM UE, the paging procedure by sending a paging reject message to the first SIM network of the wireless communication network.-

A UE is registered to a first PLMN and a first 5G NAS security context has been established. The UE selects a second PLMN. The UE sends Initial Registration procedure with only cleartext IE to the second PLMN. The second PLMN may initiate and perform authentication procedure. The second PLMN initiates NAS Security mode control procedure and sends a Security Mode Command message containing the selected NAS ciphering method to the UE. The UE sends entire the Registration Request message containing both cleartext IE(s) and non-cleartext IE(s) using the NAS ciphering method sent in the Security Mode Complete message. The second PLMN send Registration Accept message.

A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the method comprises detecting a steering of roaming (SOR) failure during registering with a first visitor-public land mobile network (VPLMN) or after registration with the first VPLMN, wherein the UE operates in a manual mode; switching the manual mode to an automatic mode based on a determination that the SOR failure occurs; and performing PLMN selection procedure to obtain service on a second VPLMN which is a higher priority than the first VPLMN.
