The method also includes converting the at least one breathing audio sample to a breathing spectrogram configured as an image. The method further includes processing the breathing spectrogram using a trained multi-task convolutional neural network (CNN) to identify a breathing rate and a breathing depth of the user. Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes accessing, from a first sensor of a wearable device, motion data representing motion of a user and determining, from the motion data, an activity level of the user. The method includes selecting, based on the activity level, an activity-based technique for estimating the breathing rate of the user, which is used to determine a breathing rate of the user. The method further includes determining a quality associated with the breathing rate and comparing the determined quality with a threshold. If the determined quality is not less than the threshold, then the method includes using the determined breathing rate as a final breathing-rate determination for the user. If the determined quality is less than the threshold, then the method includes activating a second sensor of the wearable device and determining, based on data from the second sensor, a breathing rate for the user.

Abstract: A method includes receiving multimodal data collected using at least one wearable device during an assessment window. The method also includes extracting biomarker features from the multimodal data, based on changes in the extracted biomarker features. The method also includes detecting that a stress event occurred during the assessment window. The method also includes accessing a plurality of templates of patterns in biomarker features, wherein a first subset of the templates is associated with unhealthy response to stress and a second subset of the templates is associated with healthy response to stress. The method also includes determining whether the stress event corresponds to a healthy response or an unhealthy response based on similarities between a pattern in the extracted biomarker features and the plurality of templates. The method also includes responsive to the stress event corresponding to an unhealthy response, providing a stress management recommendation.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes accessing a window of motion data collected by a motion sensor of a device worn by a user and selecting motion data in the window about or more particular axes of the motion sensor. The method further includes determining a ballistocardiogram (BCG) signal in the selected motion data and determining whether the BCG signal in the selected motion data satisfies a signal-quality metric. If the BCG signal in the selected motion data satisfies the signal-quality metric, then the method includes (1) determining one or more heart-beat metrics of the user from the selected motion data; and (2) estimating, based on the one or more determined heart-beat metrics, a stress condition of the user at a time coincident with the window of motion data.

The method further includes providing, by the electronic device, real time feedback during the spirometry test, the real time feedback based on the at least one measured parameter, the real time feedback indicating whether or not the user is performing the spirometry test correctly.

Abstract: A method includes receiving sensor data associated with respiration of a user at a first electronic device. The method also includes extracting features specific to paradoxical vocal cord motion (PVCM) from the sensor data, the extracted features comprising a cough wetness level and a respiration phase difficulty level. The method also includes calculating a PVCM score based on the extracted features using a predetermined model, wherein the predetermined model allocates weights to the extracted features based on respective importance to PVCM determination. The method also includes presenting an indicator on a display of the first electronic device for use by the user or a medical provider, the indicator representing the PVCM score.
