A method of operating a first electronic device is provided. The method includes determining whether at least one second electronic device is present on the first electronic device, displaying at least one image on a display of the first electronic device, identifying a first information input to at least one image sensor of the at least one second electronic device, comparing the identified first information with a parameter of the displayed image, determining a location of the at least one second electronic device based on the comparison result, and displaying a second information on the display based on the determined location.

A method and an apparatus are provided for executing a plurality of objects displayed on a screen of an electronic device. The plurality of objects are displayed on the screen of the electronic device. Each of the plurality of objects is used to execute an application upon selection of a respective object. Information about a first object, of the plurality of objects, corresponding to a first application and information about a second object, of the plurality of objects, corresponding to a second application, are linked. Link information about the linked first and second objects is stored. The second application is executed upon receipt of a predetermined input value from an input means during execution of the first application.

An electronic device and a method for controlling a payment function of an input means are provided. The operating method of the electronic device includes receiving a packet periodically transmitted from an input means, determining a distance from the electronic device to the input means based on determining a signal reception strength of the packet, extracting a distance value from storage associated with a matching reception strength and sending to the input means a signal according to the extracted distance value of the input means and the received packet.
