An apparatus and method for providing/receiving a voice service in a Wireless Local Access Network (WLAN) system. In the voice service provision method, an Access Point (AP) generates a multiplexing voice data packet by performing a multiplexing operation on at least two voice data packets among received voice data packets, and performs a multicast operation of multicasting the multiplexing voice data packet to Mobile Stations (MSs) which should receive the at least two voice data packets.

Provided is a method for performing handover by a STAtion (STA) in a radio Local Access Network (LAN) communication system. The method includes sending a Network Controlled HandOver Setup Request Information Element (Ncho Setup Req IE) message indicating that the STA is to perform a scan operation using a controlled scan scheme, to a serving Access Point (AP); receiving a Network Controlled HandOver Setup Response Information Element (Ncho Setup Rsp IE) message including a scan parameter related to a controlled scan operation of the STA, from the serving AP; and broadcasting a probe request message to the serving AP and neighbor APs over channels according to the scan parameter included in the Ncho Setup Rsp IE message.

A method and an apparatus for distributing a load of a base station in a wireless communication system supporting multi-carriers are provided. In the method, carriers are classified into a plurality of groups. A load of each of a plurality of cells corresponding to the plurality of groups, is determined. A cell load of each of the plurality of cells is compared with at least one threshold set in advance. When a cell load of a first cell has a value greater than the at least one threshold set in advance, a cell inside a group of the first cell or a cell inside a group different from the first cell is selected depending on the cell load of the first cell. A terminal of the first cell is allowed to perform a handover to the selected cell.

The method of distributing idle UE in a multi-carrier based mobile communication system according to the present invention includes a process of determining a search rate by a carrier on the basis of information representing load on the carrier, a step of determining a cell reselection priority on the idle UE on the basis of the determined search rate, and a process of transmitting the determined cell reselection priority to the idle UE.

The method includes receiving UpLink Radio Frequency (UL RF) information about a UL signal which a at least one eNB receives from a device in which a drive test is performed, receiving DownLink (DL) RF information about a DL signal which the device receives from the at least one eNB, predicting an RF environment and performance for the at least one eNB based on the received UL RF information and DL RF information, and determining at least one parameter for network optimization which is applied to the network optimization process based on the predicted RF environment and performance for the at least one eNB.
