    摘要: An optical access network of wavelength division method and passive optical network using the same are disclosed. The wavelength division multiplexed optical access network includes a central office for multiplexing first optical signals for wire communication and second optical signals for wireless communication and a remote node connected to the central office through an optical fiber and for demultiplexing a multiplexed optical signal received from the central office. A plurality of subscribers may be connected to the remote node. Each subscriber receives a first optical signal having a corresponding wavelength from among the demultiplexed first optical signals. The network also includes a plurality of radio relay stations connected to the remote node, each radio relay station converting a second optical signal having a corresponding wavelength from among the demultiplexed second optical signals into a radio electric signal and wirelessly transmitting the radio electric signal.

    摘要: A duobinary optical transmission device that uses a duobinary optical transmission technique is disclosed. The duobinary optical transmission device may use an X-cut Mach-Zehnder interferometer type modulator. The duobinary optical transmission device includes a light source that outputs a carrier wave. A duobinary encoder encodes an input non-return-to-zero (NRZ) electrical signal. A low pass filter (LPF) converts the encoded signal into a 3-level electrical signal. An optical intensity modulator modulates the phase and light intensity of the carrier wave according to the 3-level electrical signal and outputs a 2-level optical duobinary signal. The optical intensity modulator may be an X-cut optical intensity modulator including a substrate; an optical waveguide formed on the substrate, and an electrode for applying an electric field.

    摘要: A duobinary optical transmission device provides duobinary optical transmission with improved quality by a technique that does not require an electrical low pass filter LPF.A duobinary optical transmission device includes at least one semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA). A light source outputs a carrier wave as an optical signal. A precoder encodes an input of a non-return-to-zero (NRZ) electrical signal. An interferometer type semiconductor optical amplification unit modulates the carrier wave according to a change of an applied bias current coupled to the encoded signal. An optical band pass filter (OBPF) receives the phase-modulated optical signal from the semiconductor optical amplification unit, filters the received phase-modulated optical signal according to a designated band, and outputs an optical duobinary signal.
