    摘要: Normally, movement of an object to be photographed is detected based upon the brightness information output by a photometric means, and the object to be photographed is followed up. During the exposure process the photometric means cannot perform photometry, and therefore the movement of the object to be photographed during exposure is predicted based upon the movement information for the object to be photographed detected before the start of the exposure process, and the position of the object to be photographed after the conclusion of the exposure process is obtained. When the exposure process has been completed, follow up of the object to be photographed is restarted from the predicted position which has been calculated. By doing this, the object to be photographed is not lost sight of after the exposure process has been completed, and it is possible to continue follow up of the object to be photographed from its predicted position.Further, when follow up of the object to be photographed by the follow up means has become impossible, forcibly the initial state before the start of follow up may be returned to. By doing this, the follow up target object can be again discerned in the initial state etc., and the photographer is able quickly to proceed to the next action.

    摘要: A control circuit generates a control signal which is of a low level during a certain period of time after the power supply of a solid state imager has been turned on or a power save mode thereof has been canceled, and of a high level after elapse of the period of time. Based on the control signal, a timing generator generates transfer clock signals having a high frequency than when the solid state imager is in a normal transfer mode, and applies the transfer clock signals to a CCD shift register to remove or transfer excessive invalid charges at a high rate therefrom. After the power supply has been turned on or the power save mode has been canceled, therefore, the time required to bring the solid state imager into a condition capable of imaging a subject is shortened.

    摘要: A stereoscopic camera includes first and second image pickup units, having respectively first and second optical axes, for photographing an object to form two image frames. Two angle adjusters make angle adjustment of the optical axes. An object detector detects a human face as a principal object in the two image frames. An arithmetic processor obtains a shift amount of the face between two image frames, and determines an axial correction angle according to the shift amount for the angle adjustment in consideration of the face. A checker checks whether the angle adjustment should be made for both optical axes or for one thereof. A controller operates at least one of the two angle adjusters according to the axial correction angle and in response to information from the checker, for positioning the face equally between the two image frames optically by adjusting the first and/or second optical axis.
