Therefore, the calcium agent for plants, contains, as main components, water-soluble low molecular weight chitosan having an average molecular weight of 500 to 30000 consisting of chitosan and/or chito-oligosaccharide and/or derivatives thereof, an inorganic substance including calcium element and/or a water-soluble organic substance including calcium element, and if necessary, water-soluble organic acid. By administering this calcium agent, lime deficiency diseases of plants can be prevented.
