摘要: A technique that can update the firmware with services for clients continued on a circuit board that comprises a control unit of a storage system is provided. A plurality of blade that comprise control unit have previous BIOS on flash memory. Clusters are formed including the blade which is subject to firmware update. At the time of updating the firmware, for the update candidate substrate, the processing unit including processing to move the service provided by OS of blade to be subject to firmware update processing to OS of other blade in the cluster as well as firmware update processing for updating previous BIOS of blade which no longer provides services by the use of the BIOS update program and new BIOS image.

摘要: A data storage apparatus that stores data series provided from an exterior system in a recording medium using a buffer memory to reduce the processing time of the data storage. The data series are temporarily stored in the buffer memory separately. If a group of the data series is determined to make a series of data as a whole, the group of the data series is combined, and transferred to the recording medium at one time in order to reduce seek time and rotation wait time from those that would be required if the group of the data series is transferred to the recording medium separately.

摘要: A method for controlling power for a semiconductor storage device and the semiconductor storage device are provided which enable power consumption to be greatly reduced in a standby state. The power control method uses an ultra-low power consumption mode in which power control can be exerted in the standby state. In the ultra-low power consumption mode, a burst self-refresh state, power-OFF state, and power-ON state are provided. In the burst self-refresh state, memory cells are refreshed in a centralized manner. In the power-OFF state, an internal power source circuit can be partially turned OFF. In the power-ON state, internal power sources having been partially turned OFF are turned ON. Therefore, it is possible to greatly reduce power consumption in the standby state.

摘要: In a booster circuit comprising a first pump capacitor (CP1) connected between nodes (N1, N3) and a second pump capacitor (CP2) connected between nodes (N2, N4), the booster circuit comprises first through fifth switches (S1-S5). Connected to the node (N1), the first switch (S1) is connected to one of a power-supply node, a ground node, and a booster node. Connected to the node (N2), the second switch (S2) is connected to one of the power-supply node, the ground node, and the booster node. Disposed between the nodes (N3, N4), the third switch (S3) makes or breaks. Connected to the node (N3), the fourth switch (S4) is connected to one of the power-supply node, the booster node, and a non-connective node. Connected to the node (N4), the fifth switch (N5) is connected to one of the power-supply node, the booster node, and the non-connective node.

摘要: A cup ring and a holding-plate are disposed at each side of a front bracket of a stator of a motor, to fix in place an outer ring of a front ball-bearing of the rotor of the motor in order to prevent creep between a bearing housing and the outer ring. A thickness of a bearing shim is adjusted such that a distance between an end portion of a tube section of the cup ring and a first end face of the outer ring is less than 0.1 mm. The holding plate is temporarily fixed to a given place of the motor shaft, and then screwed down thereto with a screw, so that the holding plate moves and solidly contacts the outer ring of the front ball bearing. An outer diameter of the motor shaft extending between the given place and the bearing is smaller than a center hole of the holding plate such that the holding plate does not contact the motor shaft.

摘要: A one-motion grommet (10) has opposite front and rear small-diameter tubes (11, 12) and a widened tube (13) therebetween. The front small diameter tube (11) is dimensioned to pass into a through hole (9) in a body panel (8). A cut-away portion (15) extends forward from the rear end of the widened tube (13). The widened tube (13) is branched into an outer tube (13c) and an inner tube (13d) that is continuous with the second small-diameter tube (12). Front and rear walls (16a; 16b) project from the outer circumferential surface of a portion of the outer tube (13c) located more backward than the forward end of the cut-away portion (15) and are opposed to each other to form a body locking recess (16). The front end of the cut-away portion (15) is located more radially inward than the base end of the front wall (16a), and an opening side of the cut-away portion (15) is located radially inwardly of the rear wall (16b).
