    摘要: A disc device which includes a rotary drive mechanism for rotating a replaceable recording medium. An unbalance correcting mechanism adapted to correct unbalance is incorporated in a rotary body rotating unit in the rotary drive mechanism, and includes a holding system having a holding member for holding the rotary drive mechanism and a head having at least a reproducing function. Further included is a support member composed of resilient members, for supporting a casing and a unit holder to each other. The holding system has a natural frequency higher than 30 Hz but lower than 70 Hz, and exhibits a transmission characteristic having a lift-up degree of higher than 8 dB at a resonant point.

The magnetic head mounting surface is typically formed on an alumina protective film protecting the magnetic head. The variation of the flying height of the magnetic head slider with respect to a rolling direction is reduced and a proximity ability to approach the magnetic disk is improved.

    摘要: The present invention provides a thinner-type magnetic disc apparatus while maintaining the stiffness of the case. The magnetic disc apparatus includes a magnetic disk 100, a spindle motor 109 that rotationally actuates the magnetic disk, a magnetic head 110 that records and reproduces information on the magnetic disk, a carriage 209 with the magnetic head mounted at its tip, a voice coil motor (VCM) 101 that drives the carriage, electronic components 200 and 201 for processing signals from the magnetic head and a case 102 that encloses these structural element. Electrical wiring 108 interconnects the magnetic head and the electronic components or interconnects the electronic components, or both, and is plated onto the inner bottom surface of the case. An interface connecting part 300 is plated onto the outer bottom surface of the case and is connected to electrical wiring that is plated onto the inner bottom and side-wall surfaces of the case. The case 102 is formed as a single unit from a resinous or metal material.

The movable member is integrated with the support member and has the head mounted thereto, in which a center of gravity of the movable member including the mounted members generally coincides with the center of rotation of the movable member. The second actuator corrects an error in a positioning of the support member and positions the head, and the movable member is not vibrated during the positioning.

    摘要: A magnetic disc unit includes a rotating disc type magnetic disc having an outer periphery, and a carriage arm linked to a head support mechanism for a recording/reproducing head. A base has an outer periphery and mounts the rotating disc type magnetic disc and the carriage arm, and has a side wall with an inner wall surface having an opening for inserting the carriage arm. The inner wall surface of the side wall defines a shroud surrounding the outer periphery of the magnetic disc, except at the opening in the side wall where the shroud is projected inwardly so as to decrease an opening angle of the opening in the side wall. A gap between the outer periphery of the magnetic disc and the shroud is set in a range not less than 0.1 mm but not greater than 0.6 mm.
