Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for allocation and/or preemption of radio access network (“RAN”) resources in a wireless network based on Quality of Service (“QoS”)-related metrics associated with User Equipment (“UEs”) that are connected to, and/or are requesting connection to, a RAN. QoS-related metrics may include a network slice, a QoS Flow Identifier (“QFI”), other suitable metrics. A Slice-Based Priority (“SBP”) determine one or more priority (e.g., SBP) values for UEs connected to the one or more RANs, and/or for UEs requesting connection to such RANs. In addition to QoS-related metrics priority values may be determined based on RAN-related metrics, such as Allocation and Retention Priority (“ARP”) values associated with a UE. RANs may accordingly be able to allocate resources, accept or deny connection requests, and/or perform preemption based at least partly on slice-related QoS metrics, thus preserving end-to-end QoS parameters.

Abstract: A device may determine one or more parameters relating to a network. The device may detect a trigger to alter a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) configuration for the network based on the one or more parameters relating to the network. The device may determine an alteration to the HARQ configuration based on detecting the trigger to alter the HARQ configuration. The device may communicate with a distributed unit or a centralized unit of the network to cause the alteration to the HARQ configuration.

Abstract: An example described herein includes a device to receive, from a user device, a request message to split processing, of an application, between the user device and the server device; determine a processing capability of the server device; and determine whether the server device is capable of executing a process of the application based on the processing capability of the server device. When the server device is determined to be capable of executing the process of the application, the device may: send an acceptance message to the user device, wherein the acceptance message identifies a first set of processes of the application and includes instructions to permit the user device to execute the first set of processes; and execute a second set of processes of the application, wherein the user device executes the first set of processes of the application substantially simultaneously as the server device executes the second set of processes of the application.

Abstract: A system and method provide for receiving an indication that a user device has been inactive; accessing a configuration table; identifying, based on the configuration table, a number of user devices that can be in an RRC inactive state; determining a current number of user devices that are in the RRC inactive state; transitioning the user device to the RRC inactive state when the current number of user devices is less than the threshold number of user devices; determining a priority associated with the user device when the current number equals the threshold number; and transitioning the user device to the RRC inactive state or an RRC idle state based on the priority of the user device.

The system may implement the determined TDD configuration at the RAN. The UE and the RAN may communicate with each other according to the implemented TDD configuration, which may include particular timing information for uplink and downlink communications between the UE and the RAN.
