Abstract: A service provider may receive a user device that includes an embedded subscriber identity module (eSIM) associated with an equipment identifier (eID) with a previously provisioned service. The previously provisioned service may be provided by an eSIM profile (identified by an Integrated Circuit Card Identifier or ICCID) and the eSIM may contain more than one ICCID. The service provider may re-provision one of the existing ICCIDs to provide service based on the eID and historical data. The device and the carrier provisioning system may determine whether one of the profiles (ICCIDs) installed in the eSIM matches an already known eSIM profile (ICCD) and re-provision the eSIM profile (ICCD) for new wireless service. The service provider may then activate the user device for communication via the new wireless service in response to re-provisioning of the applicable eSIM profile (ICCID).

Abstract: A method includes determining, by a user equipment (UE) device, whether subscriber identification profile (SIDP) is stored within the UE device; sending, from the UE device, an attach request along with a universal globally unique temporary identifier (UGUTI) to a mobility management entity (MME) within a network, upon determining that the subscriber identification profile is not stored in the UE device; receiving, at the UE device, an authorization to attach to the network in response to the attach request; and accessing, by the UE device, the network in accordance with a pre-provisioned profile associated with the UGUTI, where the pre-provisioned profile limits access to the network.

Abstract: A method including determining whether a subscriber identification profile (SIDP) is stored within a UE; sending an initial attach request along with a default network access key to a MME, upon determining that the SIDP is not stored; receiving a first authorization to attach to the network in response to the initial attach request, the first authorization restricts connectivity of the UE to an M2M activation system accessed by a dedicated APN associated with the default network access key; receiving, from a subscription management system, a SIDP generated by the M2M activation system; detaching from the M2M activation system and the network; sending a second attach request to the network based on the received SIDP; and receiving a second authorization to the network in response to the second attach request; the second authorization provides unrestricted APN connectivity and access to services associated with the subscriber identification profile.

Abstract: A wireless communication device may include a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card configured to store a subscriber profile. The wireless communication device may further include logic configured to detect attachment to a wireless access network; detect a non-activated Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card; receive a Protocol Configuration Options (PCO) message from the wireless access network; retrieve subscription status information for the SIM card from the received PCO message; determine whether the SIM card has a valid subscription based on the retrieved subscription status information; and instruct the SIM card not to initiate an activation process with a SIM Over-the-air (OTA) system, in response to determining that the SIM card does not have a valid subscription.

Abstract: Subscription status notification techniques are provided. A request is received by at least one server from a user equipment (UE) to attach to a wireless packet data communication network. The server determines whether the UE is associated with an enterprise identified by a service provider of the network as a sponsor of a data service through the network, based on an account of the UE stored on the server. Upon determining that the UE is associated with the enterprise, a notification message is sent from the server to the UE, through an information element field within an existing message in a bearer channel of the network. The UE is configured to control access to the network responsive to the subscription status in the notification message. The UE permits access to a sponsored data service associated with the enterprise sponsor regardless of the UE's ability to access non-enterprise associated data services.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a certificate authority, a first onboarding identifier associated with a private key stored on the UE. The UE may transmit, to a wireless network, an attach request based on the first onboarding identifier. The UE may receive, from the wireless network, a signaling message that includes a second onboarding identifier, wherein the signaling message may be encrypted with a public key paired with the private key stored on the UE. The UE may decrypt the signaling message using the private key stored on the UE to obtain the second onboarding identifier. The UE may obtain a permanent identifier from a Remote SIM Provisioning platform based on the UE completing an authentication procedure using an authentication response obtained from the decrypted signaling message. The UE may then connect to the wireless network using the permanent identifier.
