    摘要: The relative intensity of fluorescent light of a melt-polycondensed aromatic polycarbonate produced by the transesterification process (melt polymerization process) of an aromatic dihydroxy compound and a carbonic acid diester in the presence of a catalyst comprising a basic nitrogen compound and/or a basic phosphorus compound in combination with an alkali metal compound is suppressed to 4.0×10−3 or below at a wavelength of 465 nm based on a standard substance in a fluorescent light spectrum obtained by the excitation wavelength of 320 nm. An aromatic polycarbonate having good color stability, especially good stability to the deterioration of the chip color during storage of the chip in air at room temperature can be produced by the present invention.

    摘要: An aromatic polycarbonate and an active-hydrogen compound are subjected to the transesterification reaction in the presence of a transesterification catalyst under a reduced pressure condition followed by reaction with a salicylic acid ester derivative expressed by the following chemical formula (1), {wherein X is methyl or ethyl, and Y is a carbonyl group or a divalent functional group expressed by the following formula (2), (where Z is an alkylene group having a carbon number of 1 to 30, an arylene group having a carbon number of 6 to 30 or an aralkylene group having a carbon number of 7 to 30)}. An aromatic polycarbonate having a high molecular weight can be produced by this process.

    摘要: A process for the production of an aromatic polycarbonate, which comprises polycondensing an aromatic dihydroxy compound and a diaryl carbonate in the presence, as a polycondensation catalyst, of at least one alkali metal salt selected from the group consisting of alkali metal salts of ate-complexes of a metal element, which is silicon, germanium, stannum or plumbum, and alkali metal salts of oxoacids of said metal elements. The above aromatic polycarbonate is almost free from being colored, is also almost free from a decrease in polymerization degree when molded, and is further almost free from forming branches and insolubles.

    摘要: A new gamma-ray stabilizer comprising a combination of 100 parts by weight of a benzyl compound (A) having a specific chemical structure and 0.01 to 10 parts by weight of a pentaerythritol phosphorous ester (B) having a spirocyclic structure. Said stabilizer is preferably blended in such a manner that said (A) is contained in an amount of 0.01 to 10 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic polymer (polycarbonate or the like), and said (B) is contained in an amount of 0.01 to 1 part by weight based on 100 parts by weight of said (A). When the thermoplastic polymer is subjected to gamma-ray irradiation, said stabilizer can efficiently protect the thermoplastic polymer from the deterioration of physical properties and yellowing; and on molding processing, the stabilizer-added polymer is suffered from little color tone deterioration and has excellent color tone, and at the same time, the polymer is scarcely suffered from molecular weight decrease on molding, and exhibits excellent thermal stability, moldability or the like. The thermoplastic polymer (especially polycarbonate) composition containing said stabilizer thus obtained is suitable for medical apparatus and medical material uses, especially a jacket case for an artificial dialyzer.
