    摘要: The invention concerns polyolefin compositions with high flame resistance. The compositions comprise (percent by weight): A) from 20 to 60% by weight of a heterophasic olefin polymer composition comprising a crystalline olefin polymer (a) and an elastomeric olefin polymer (b), said composition (A) being optionally modified with at least one functional monomer in an amount from 0.005% to 0.6% by weight with respect to the total weight of the total composition; B) from 15 to 40% by weight of one or more than one inorganic hydrated fillers; C) from 12 to 40% by weight of one or more than one organic flame retardants containing nitrogen in the molecule; D) from 0 to 40% by weight of one or more than one inorganic anhydrous fillers. Possible applications include the use as insulating material in electric wires and cables and the use as waterproofing sheets for roofs and tunnels.

    摘要: A process for rendering polymer compositions antistatic and the products of such process are described. The polymeric material is treated with a combination of selected trineoalkoxy amino zirconates and trineoalkoxy sulfonyl zirconates. These latter materials are soluble in the polyolefins, polyesters, polyamides, polyethers, polycarbonates, and polystyrenes and remain stable during the processing of these polymers. Furthermore, the antistatic agents of the invention are thermally stable to temperatures up to 825.degree. F., do not "bloom" during the polymer processing, and are colorless, permanent, non-blooming and non-moisture dependent.

    摘要: There is disclosed a liquid gel composition useful for incorporation in thermoplastic and thermosetting resins. The liquid gel comprises a liquid mixture of certain hydroxyalkyl fatty amines or fatty imidazolium quaternaries which is gelled by an organophilic, expanding lattice clay that is ion exchanged with alkyl ammonium ions. The clay is employed at a sufficient concentration to form a stable gel and is milled into the liquid vehicle to form a gel of a suitable viscosity to permit it to be added to the resin with metering injection equipment. The composition when used at low concentrations in resins enhances the physical properties of the resins by imparting a permanent anti-static characteristic to the resins and by significantly decreasing their brittleness, thereby increasing elongation, impact and tensile strengths of the resins. Solid, subdivided colorants can also be blended into the liquid gel composition at a concentration from 10 to about 70 weight percent of the resultant mixture, thereby providing a liquid colorant composition to color the resins and improve their physical properties with a single composition.

    摘要: Cationic fluorochemical surfactants useful as antistatic agents and lubricants for polymeric shapes are prepared from 2,2,3,4,4,4-hexafluorobutanol or perfluorobutyric acid. Hexafluorobutanol is reacted with bromoundecanoic acid to obtain a bromoester which is then reacted with pyridine to obtain a cationic surfactant. Perfluorobutyric acid is esterified with methanol to obtain methyl perfluorobutyrate which is then reacted with dimethylaminopropylamine to obtain an amino-amide which is then reacted with hydrogen peroxide to obtain the N-oxide derivative which is neutralized with glycolic acid to obtain a cationic surfactant, a salt of the N-oxide derivative.
