    摘要: RNCs are assigned different bit length identifiers, for example 12 bits (legacy) and 16 bits (extended). To enable handovers between adjacent RNCs with different bit length identifiers, several solutions are presented. In a first solution, no logical/direct connection is configured between the adjacent RNCs having different bit length identifiers at least for the case where the value of the longer identifier is not compatible with the shorter identifier. In a second solution, some RNCs are given both a long and a short identifier, and use the one matching the length of the RNC with which a handover occurs. In a third solution, for all adjacent RNCs with an Iur logical connection between them but still having different bit length identifiers, the most significant bits of the longer identifier are not the same as the whole of the shorter bit length identifier. Multiple variations and examples are presented, and implementations include method, apparatus, embodied computer program, and integrated circuit.

    摘要: The invention relates to methods for providing a network element 5 of a communications network with data, in particular HSDPA related data. In order to enable the transmission of user data, it is proposed that a controller 4 of the network uses a dedicated frame structure for assembling frames with said user data. The frames can then be transmitted from the controller 4 via an interface to the network element 5. In order to enable the transmission of control parameters, it is further proposed that an interface application protocol is employed which allows the controller 4 to add control parameters to control messages transmitted from the controller 4 to a network element 5 via the interface.

    摘要: The present invention relates to methods and devices for enabling reception of a specific service for terminals idle mode. More particularly, the present invention relates to such methods and devices enabling mobility for terminals in idle mode so as to receive an MBMS service. In case a terminal is interested in the MBMS service, it applies different reselection rule than normal reselection rule i.e., when the terminal is not interested in the MBMS service. For instance, the terminal manipulates the priority indications received from an eNB and considers MBMS layer the highest priority in case the terminal is interested in MBMS service. If the terminal thus manipulates the priority due to the (intended) MBMS reception, the terminal starts an MBMS timer, which is received as a permission parameter from the eNB.

    摘要: Methods, apparatuses, and systems are provided for modem coordination. A method may include establishing a coordinated communication session with a base station on a first communication channel. The method may further include causing transmission, to the base station, of an indication of an occurrence of an irregular transmission of data on a second communication channel. The second communication channel may be with a station logically separated from the base station. The base station maybe configured to respond to the indication of the occurrence of the irregular transmission by modifying transmission on the first communication channel to avoid interfering with the irregular transmission. The method may additionally include causing transmission, to the base station, of an indication of completion of the irregular transmission to allow the base station to resume normal transmission on the first communication channel. Corresponding apparatuses and systems are also provided.
