Abstract: An image-forming device which is equipped with an image-holding member, an exposure section provided with plural light-emitting portions arranged in a first direction, a movement section that relatively moves the exposure section and the image-holding member in a second direction that intersects with the first direction, and a light-emission control section. The light-emission control section causes the plural light-emitting portions to periodically emit light in accordance with image data representing an image that is to be formed on the image-holding member, to form the image on the image-holding member. The light-emission control section varies a light-emission period during formation of the image, so as to correct for periodic fluctuations within the image of at least one of density and magnification ratio in the second direction.

Abstract: A drive circuit for driving a plasma display panel (PDP) includes a pulse voltage generation circuit (5101) that contains main switching elements disposed on the high voltage side and on the low voltage side, is operable to generate a pulse voltage by operating the main switching elements in accordance with an output voltage from a first power supply (V1) and apply the pulse voltage to a PDP scan electrode and sustain electrode, and a reset voltage generation circuit (52) operable to generate a reset voltage in accordance with an output voltage from a second power supply (V2) and apply it to the PDP. The pulse voltage generator C circuit contains a first diode (D11) that prevents the voltage outputted by the reset voltage generation circuit from being applied backward to the first power supply and a first switching element (S11) connected to the first diode in parallel.

Abstract: Pulse generating sections (1X, 1Y) convert a DC voltage (Vs) into voltage pulses (Vp), and apply the pulses to the sustain and scan electrodes (X, Y) of a PDP (20). Recovery switching devices (Q3X, Q4X, Q3Y, Q4Y) of power recovery sections (2X, 2Y) are turned on and off under the rising and falling edges of the voltage pulses (Vp), thereby connect recovery inductors (LpX, LpY) to recovery capacitors (CX, CY). Then, the recovery inductors (LpX, LpY) resonate with the panel capacitance (Cp). While the amounts of the resonance currents (ILX, ILY) are small, the inductances of the recovery inductors (LpX, LpY) are high. When the amounts of the resonance currents (ILX, ILY) exceed a threshold value, the inductances of the recovery inductors (LpX, LpY) are reduced.
