摘要: The purpose of the present device is to provide a simply-configured showerhead at a low price wherein the shower water is stopped simultaneously with the operation of the stop cock of the shower. Thus, sparing the user an unnecessary action of reattempting to turn off the stop cock. The showerhead comprises at least a body having a large channel and small channel defining a step and being in communication with each other. Further, nozzle is provided at one end of the showerhead and a water supply connection is provided at the other end. A partition tube may be inserted in the large channel to form an air-inflow chamber between the partition tube and the body. Thus, air may be introduced from an outer air-suction port into the water-inflow chamber through an inner air-suction port.

摘要: A waveguide type optical device includes a substrate where a waveguide is formed; a supplemental plate connected on the substrate by using an adhesive; and a groove forming part formed by cutting through the supplemental plate so as to reach the substrate and cut the waveguide, the groove forming part being where a functional thin film is inserted. The supplemental plate and the waveguide adhere to each other or come close to each other in a range not influencing a mode of light.

摘要: Optical waveguides (A) and (B) of a Mach-Zehnder modulator is normally formed on a −Z plane as an electric polarization non-inversion area. However, when the signal electrode 11 and the ground electrode 10 are provided asymmetrically on two waveguides, chirp occurs in output light, which is undesired. Therefore, these electrodes are provided symmetrically about the two waveguides. To effectively perform optical modulation, a part of the substrate in which an optical waveguide exists is to be electric polarization-inverted. As a result of the electric polarization inversion the optical waveguide is on the +Z plane. However, electric charge is accumulated on the +Z plane from unstable spontaneous electric polarization of an electric polarization inversion area, and has undesired influence on the performance of the optical modulator. Therefore, a conductive amorphous layer is formed on the surface of the electric polarization inversion area.

摘要: In a lamp device provided with an arc tube, a principal reflection mirror, and a sub-mirror; a decrease in illumination light, caused by a trigger line disposed to improve the turn-on characteristics of the arc tube, being suppressed. The lamp device include an arc tube having a bulb portion that incorporates electrodes and sealing portions; a principal reflection mirror; a sub-mirror; leads connected to an electrode at an end portion of each of the sealing portions; and a trigger line. The trigger line has a ring-like portion wound around the sealing portion. The trigger line extends from the ring-like portion and has a wiring path that passes a neighborhood of the bulb portion without coming into contact with the bulb portion, further extends along the sealing portion and is connected to the lead. The wiring path is in the same plane that extends through an optical axis.

摘要: An X-ray CT apparatus is capable of obtaining an image of arbitrary size for an arbitrary part of an object to be examined. The X-ray CT apparatus prepares two-dimensional data and three-dimensional data from a plurality of X-ray information obtained by driving an X-ray tube and an X-ray information detector through one rotation around a patient in a range between a lower jaw and the eyes of the patient, and it displays a tomographic image based thereon on a display unit. A rotational mechanism is fitted to a support, a U-shaped arm is mounted on the support with the X-ray tube and the X-ray information inputting means facing each other and fitted, and the image of an arbitrary size of an arbitrary part of the patient is collected and displayed as the patient is supported in a chair which is capable of being electrically-driven in the vertical direction.

摘要: An electrical dimmer device and its driving method applicable to, for example, an image pickup unit and a display unit operate so that when a control signal for stop adjustment is changed from its current value of stop adjustment to a larger value, which occurs when the light transmissivity of a positive type liquid crystal is raised, or when the light transmissivity of a negative type liquid crystal is lowered, the control signal is temporarily varied to an intermediate value that is larger than the larger value. The energy of the varied larger value and a time during which that varied value is applied are determined in accordance with predetermined values. By doing so, it is possible to make a response speed when changing the light transmissivity extremely faster and thus attain a response time, of for example, one field period of time or less required for a stop mechanism of a video camera.
