Abstract:
A bulky sheet material having three-dimensional protrusions 10 is disclosed. The sheet material comprises a first layer 1 and a second layer 2 adjacent to the first layer 1. The first layer 1 and the second layer 2 is partly joined together at joints 3 in a prescribed pattern. The first layer 1 has a number of raised portions which are located among the joints 3. The second layer 2 comprises a material which exhibits elastomeric behavior. The bulky sheet material 10 exhibits elastomeric behavior as a whole and breathability.
Abstract:
A belt unit includes a belt member, scale marks, a scale mark detector, a reference mark, and a reference mark detector. The belt member makes an endless movement while being stretched by stretching members. The scale mark detector detects the scale marks, and the reference mark is provided at a predetermined position on the surface of the belt member. The reference mark detector detects whether the reference mark is present at the predetermined position.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus including a rotary member having an image formation area, and a scale located at a position outside of the image formation area and on an inner circumference of the rotary member. Also included is a drive device configured to drive the rotary member, a developing device configured to develop an image on the image formation area of the rotary member, and a transfer device configured to transfer the image on the image formation area to a recording sheet. Further included is a sensor configured to detect the scale on the rotary member and to output a signal corresponding to the detection of the scale.
Abstract:
An AC adaptor has an AC plug having wider contact portions facilitating better contact despite the displacement. AC plug 3 of AC adaptor 3 has a pair of conductive blades 4, an end surface with the blades projecting with a substantially right angle, a first surface and a first rotary shaft on a first side surface. On a second side surface opposite to the first side surface, there are provided a second surface and a second rotary shaft. A first and second planar contact portions which are electrically connected respectively to a first and second conductive blades are configured respectively to project slightly from the surfaces of the first and second rotary shafts. On a circuit board in the case, there are provided conductive spring terminals 17 with projecting portions thereof making resilient contact with the first and second planar contact portions 15.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus of the type forming a toner image on a photoconductive drum or similar image carrier, transferring it to a paper or similar transfer medium via an intermediate transfer body, e.g., belt, and fixing it on the medium by a fixing device is disclosed. Just after the transfer of a toner image of the last color which is to lie over the other toner images on the intermediate transfer belt, the peripheral speed of the belt is switched to a comparatively low speed matching a fixing and paper transport speed. At this instant, the belt is moved away from the drum. The length of the transfer medium and the distance between a paper transfer position and a fixing position is compared. For a relatively short transfer medium, the peripheral speed of the belt is not switched to the low speed.
Abstract:
To provide cramp mechanism for cramping a disk medium (3) with an even cramp load without needing special process such as heating shrinkage fit, the cramp mechanism comprises a disk cramper (4) having an inside opening and a cramping part (A) for cramping the disk medium (3), a cylindrical wall provided on a spindle hub (2) having the same center axis with a spindle motor (7), and a cramp nut (5). The outside surface of the cylindrical wall is configured to make a clearance fit at a fitting part (B) with the inside opening of the disk cramper (4), and the inside surface of the cylindrical wall is made tapered and provided with screw threads. On condition that the disk cramper (4) is added with a pre-load for cramping the magnetic disk medium (3), the cramp nut (5) is screwed onto the spindle hub (2) engaging with the screw threads with a tightening force (C) so as to deform the fitting part (B) to make a close fit with the disk cramper (4).
Abstract:
A color image forming apparatus has a plurality of developing units each including a developing sleeve and storing a developer of particular color. The developing sleeve is located to face a photoconductive element or similar image carrier. When the supply of the developer from the developing sleeve to the image carrier begins or ends, a magnet brush formed on the sleeve by the developer is slowly brought into or out of contact with the image carrier. As a result, a load acting on the image carrier due to the brush contacting it is slowly applied and cancelled. This eliminates changes in the moving speed of the image carrier and thereby insures desirable image quality.
Abstract:
A device for use in electrostatographic image recording equipment for retaining and transporting a paper sheet, document or similar sheet member. A transporting member is implemented as an endless belt. An AC voltage is applied to the belt to form a charge density pattern on the surface of the belt, while the charge density pattern sets up a non-uniform electric field in close proximity to the surface of the belt. The non-uniform electric field urges the sheet member against the belt and thereby allows it to be surely transported by the belt to a predetermined position without being dislocated.
Abstract:
A color electrophotographic copying process utilizing the Carlson process. A colored original to be copied is color-separated and read by a solid-state image pickup device. Color compensation or gradation compensation is carried out on the basis of the data read by the solid-state image pickup device. When the color compensation is effected, amounts of masking are determined on the basis of the data read by the solid-state image pickup device, and the color-separated latent images are partially erased in an area-modulating manner dependent on the determined amounts of masking with an eraser having a light-emitting dot array. When the gradation compensation is effected, the latent images are partially erased with the eraser in an area-modulating manner dependent on the determined amounts of masking, or an appropriate gradation reproduction curve is selected on the basis of the data read by the solid-state image pickup device.
Abstract:
In a copying apparatus which comprises a plurality of rotatable photosensitive members and an image transfer belt rotatably movable in synchronism with the photosensitive members and in which visible image formed on the photosensitive members are transferred onto a transfer paper carried by the transfer belt, a pair of sensors are arranged around the transfer belt which has a pair of marks thereon and an initiation and a termination of a preprocess are performed prior to a copying process on the basis of detections of these marks by the sensors.
