Abstract: A warning method and system for detecting lane-changing condition of rear-approaching vehicles are disclosed, in which the method comprises the steps of: detecting rear-view images of an ego-vehicle so as to be used for defining three regions of interest (ROI) corresponding respectively to a lane to the left of the ego-vehicle, a lane to the right of the ego-vehicle, and a lane where the ego-vehicle is travelling thereon; detecting whether there is any direction light that is flashing to be used as basis for determining whether there is any vehicle approaching from the rear that is expected to be a potential threat to the ego-vehicle; and if so, issuing an alarm signal to the driver of the ego-vehicle for reminding the same to aware the distance between the ego-vehicle and the rear-approaching vehicle. Thereby, the driver's road environment awareness is enhanced and consequently the safety of driving can be improved.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for single-image-based rain streak removal are introduced herein. In this method and apparatus, an original image is decomposed into a high frequency part and a low frequency part, and the high frequency image is then decomposed into a rain part and a non-rain part. The non-rain high frequency image and the original low frequency image are used to produce a non-rain image.

Abstract: An illumination device for plants includes a lighting unit mounted on a lamp seat and including a cold cathode fluorescent lamp and a light emitting diode (LED) unit. A driving unit is mounted to the lamp seat, is coupled to the cold cathode fluorescent lamp and the LED unit, and is operable so as to drive the cold cathode fluorescent lamp and the LED unit such that the cold cathode fluorescent lamp and the LED emit respectively color lights having respective wavelengths. A dimming unit is coupled to the driving unit, and is operable so as to output a dimming output to the driving unit. The driving unit drives the cold cathode fluorescent lamp and the LED unit based on the dimming output from the dimming unit so that the color light emitted by each of the cold cathode fluorescent lamp and the LED unit has a respective light intensity.

Abstract: A cooling fan (100) includes a frame (10), a circuit board (20) and a rotor (30). The frame includes a housing (12) and a plate (14) connecting with the housing. The circuit board is mounted on the plate. The rotor is received in the housing and includes a hollow hub (32) and a plurality of blades (38) extending from the hub. A plurality of light emitting diodes (40) is mounted on the circuit board. When the rotor rotates, each LED projects light towards the rotor and to the frame so that the light will be reflected and deflected by the fan whereby the whole fan glows and produces a fantastic visual effect.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a control system for an electrostatically-driven microelectromechanical device, which uses multiple electrodes to control the microelectromechanical device, i.e. the lower driven electrode of a capacitor with known two parallel driven electrodes is cut into a number of small electrodes. By selecting an electrode pattern for a desired electrostatic force, it is capable of altering the non-linearity of the device based on various applications and achieving a characteristic such as a linear driven, digital driven, or ultimately optimal driven manners, which is able to reach high operation accuracy for the existing circuit that only possesses a limited accuracy.
