摘要: A method of verifying product authenticity includes emitting, by an electromagnetic radiation source in communication with a processor, radiation to heat one or more pieces of ferromagnetic material in or on a product. The method also includes detecting, by a heat sensor in communication with the processor, heat emitted from the one or more pieces of ferromagnetic material that are in or on the product. The method further includes determining, by the processor, if the product is counterfeit based on the detected heat.

The device has a microscope lens which magnifies a portion of the leaf and send an image of the leaf portion to an image recognition system. 摘要: The invention is directed to an insect collection and viewing device comprising a negative air pressure generating assembly including a motor and a fan driven by the motor and a suitably shaped collection nozzle. A viewing chamber is coupled intermediate the collection nozzle and the negative air pressure assembly. The viewing chamber is tubular in shape and has an air permeable-insect impermeable screen at the downstream opening thereof and a movable valve/lens at the upstream opening thereof. When the valve/lens is open an air flow is established through the device. The air flow path is from the nozzle through the viewing chamber into and out of the assembly. In operation insects of interest are captured by sucking the insect into the device through the nozzle, then through the open valve/lens into the viewing chamber where it is captured between the screen and the closed valve. By making the valve in the shape of a transparent lens the trapped insect may be inspected through the magnifying lens.

摘要: An insect collection device (10) comprises an elongated housing (20) extending in a downstream direction between first (22) and second (24) ends about a housing interior. A partition (36) separates the interior (26) into an upstream region proximate the first end (22) and a downstream region proximate the second end (24). The partition (36) is constructed to permit airflow between these regions, while impeding passage of insects therebetween. A movable closure (50) is disposed on a first end portion (33) of the housing to move between a closed position and an open position to create an entryway into the upstream region. A compression chamber (70) is disposed on a second end portion of the housing (20) and moves between compressed and uncompressed positions to urge the closure into the second/open position such that insects in a vicinity of the first end (22) are drawn into the upstream region for collection. A methodology for capturing insects is also provided.
