Abstract:
A recess is formed on the periphery of each of through-holes that go through a rim cavity, and the outer surface of a rim part is cut while a seal member for sealing the through-hole is positioned on the recess. It is thereby possible to stably manufacture a vehicle wheel in which swarf tends not to remain inside the rim cavity. Furthermore, it is not necessary to avoid the seal member for sealing the through-hole when cutting the outer surface of the rim part, and the outer surface of the rim part can be cut without any distinction having to be made between the periphery of the through-hole and the rest of the outer surface. Any increase in manufacturing costs can be minimized.
Abstract:
A process is provided for manufacturing aluminum vehicle wheels by a casting process that is followed by processing including flow forming and heat treatment steps while one or more risers remain on the cast wheel blank. The process can include directing cooling fluid onto an exposed surface of the casting mold to enhance wheel strength. One-by-one transfer of wheel blanks can be practiced to avoid negative aspects of batch processing.
Abstract:
The semifinished casting for an alloy road wheel undergoes three successive machining operations in which material is removed by stages to produce an inner circumferential seating, destined ultimately to accommodate one bead of a tire, a center hole coaxial both with the inner seating and with the axis of rotation of the wheel, also a set of fixing holes of which the axes describe a circle centered on the axis of rotation, and finally, an outer circumferential seating destined to accommodate the remaining bead of the tire, which is offset from the axis of rotation in such a way as to achieve a non-uniform distribution of mass, limited to the part of wheel affording the outer circumferential seating, that varies progressively with the change in angular position around the axis of rotation between a maximum and a minimum value.
Abstract:
A process for manufacturing a vehicle wheel includes the steps of preparing a wheel raw material blank in which rim raw material is integrally formed at a peripheral edge of a disk member. The rim portion is formed by spinning the rim raw material while rotating the wheel material about the axis of the disk member. Thereafter, such spin molded raw material is heat treated, and then machined by cutting. The center portion of the rim is spin formed to its final thickness while the rim edge portions are left with a thickness after spin molding that requires machine cutting to the final dimensions.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a device and method for laser cutting of aluminum alloy wheel blank burrs. The device includes a wheel hub lifting and locking mechanism and one or more groups of lasers mounted to a moving mechanism, and the moving mechanism comprises vertical guide columns (8) and horizontal guide columns (10) mounted to the vertical guide columns (8). During use, the device of the present invention can realize the function of online cutting of wheel burrs, thereby improving work efficiency and reducing manual labor, and the device has the characteristics of high cutting precision, rounded and burr-free cutting parts, stable performances, high degree of automation and the like.
Abstract:
The invention refers to a method and a press tool for manufacturing a separating disk adapted to be included in a disk package of a centrifuge rotor of a centrifugal separator. The separating disk extends around an axis of rotation and has a tapering shape with an inner surface and an outer surface along the axis of rotation. A blank of a material is provided. A central opening is made in the blank. The blank is positioned in a charging position by means of a projecting central portion. The blank is pressed against the first tool part having a shape corresponding to the tapering shape of the separating disk.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a unitary steel wheel as well as the apparatus and method of producing a unitary steel wheel. The unitary wheel comprises wheel rim and disc portions. In one embodiment, the unitary wheel of this invention further comprise a one-piece wheel of 5° and 15° drop center rims, providing a generally circular steel blank from a sheet stock of pre-determined substantially uniform thickness. The bank preferably has a center hole having a predetermined size. The blank is performed in a spinning machine to a predetermined profile and shape. The perform is further spun and flow formed in a spinning machine, the perform being positioned between an outer roll and inner mandrel and held against a clamping plate. The inner mandrel comprises an outboard surface, which conforms to the predetermined inner diameter of the rim. The perform is further processed in the spinning machine to form a final shape and profile of the rim portion comprising a well, inner and outer flange portions, and inner and outer bead-seat portions.
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing an aluminum alloy wheel, comprising the steps of producing an elongated strip of alloy blank with a desired cross-section by squeezing an alloy material, pre-curving the two ends of said blank into arcs, placing one end of said blank between an upper main roller and a lower main roller of a rolling machine to hold said blank, when said blank is being held by said upper main roller and said lower main roller and being driven back and forth along the longitudinal direction, approaching two auxiliary rollers of said rolling machine toward the two sides of said upper main roller to push said blank, so that said blank follows the curve established by a holding point between said upper main roller and said lower main roller and pushing points of said auxiliary rollers to progressively coil into the shape of the desired aluminum alloy wheel.
