Abstract: The invention relates to a tire having at least one carcass reinforcement comprising reinforcers, surmounted radially on the outside by a crown reinforcement, itself radially on the inside of a tread, said crown reinforcement being made up of at least one layer of reinforcement elements, said tread being connected to two beads by way of two sidewalls, said beads being intended to come into contact with a rim flange having a rim flange top C, each bead having at least one circumferential reinforcement element, said carcass reinforcement comprising an end at each bead, the end of the carcass reinforcement being turned up once in an outward radial direction of the tire and about said bead wire, so as to form a turnup, then being folded in said radially inward direction so as to form a fold forming a radially external end and three adjacent parts along an axial axis made up of a central part, of an axially internal lateral part, and of an axially external lateral part.The tire is characterized in that the radially external end of the turnup is disposed between the rim flange top C and a point D, said points C and D being situated at the surface of the sidewall and disposed on either side of a point E situated on the sidewall corresponding to the nominal section width, said point D being disposed at a maximum radial length equal to 85% of the length present between the axial end S of the crown reinforcement and the rim flange top C.

Abstract: The invention provides a base tire manufacturing method and a base tire having a proper thickness for the rubber layer by setting the thickness of the rubber layer in such a manner as to optimize the buffing allowance for the cure-molded base tire without placing limits on the shape of the post-buffing base tire. The base tire thus manufactured has a belt layer, an outermost rubber layer of a predetermined width disposed over the belt layer for application of a tread therto, and edge rubber members at both axial ends of the outermost rubber layer. For this base tire, the loss tangent of the outermost rubber layer is set lower than the loss tangent of the edge rubber members, the pre-buffing thickness A1 at the equator of the outermost rubber layer is set at “post-buffing thickness A2×150%” or less, and the post-buffing thickness A2 is set in a range of 1 mm to 3.5 mm.

Abstract: A tire having a circumferential tread, at least one belt, an inner liner, a pair of sidewalls, at least one carcass ply, and a pair of bead portions. The pair of bead portions each further includes a bead core, a bead filler having an upper end, a chaffer, and a gum strip. The chaffer extends axially outward from the inner liner towards the sidewall and curves radially upward along an axially outer portion of the bead core. The sidewall gum strip extends radially upward from a curved portion of the chaffer, wherein the sidewall gumstrip is located axially between the at least one carcass ply turn-up end and a sidewall.
