    Abstract: A pneumatic tire includes a carcass ply that is wound up around a bead core from an inside to an outside in a tire axial direction; an inner metal reinforcing layer and an outer metal reinforcing layer that are wound up on an outside of the carcass ply from the inside to the outside in the tire axial direction; and a buffer layer that is provided between the inner metal reinforcing layer and the outer metal reinforcing layer, and is wound up from the inside to the outside in the tire axial direction. The buffer layer includes a rubber having a higher hardness than those of a carcass rubber configuring the carcass ply and a covering rubber configuring the inner metal reinforcing layer and the outer metal reinforcing layer.

    Abstract: A pneumatic tire 2 includes a buttress reinforcing layer 22. A carcass 12 includes a first ply 38 and a second ply 40. The first ply 38 and the second ply 40 each have a main portion that is extended on and between beads 10 on both sides. The buttress reinforcing layer 22 extends along the first ply 38 and the second ply 40 between the first ply 38 and the second ply 40. An outer end 22a of the buttress reinforcing layer 22 is disposed inward of a shoulder region S of a tread 4 in a radial direction. An inner end 22b of the buttress reinforcing layer 22 is disposed at a maximum width position of the tire or disposed outward of the maximum width position of the tire in the radial direction.

    Abstract: A tire includes a circumferential tread, at least one belt, and a pair of sidewalls, with each sidewall forming an outermost point of a side of the tire. The tire further includes a pair of bead portions and at least one carcass ply extending circumferentially about the tire from one bead portion to the other. The tire also has a chafer having a first portion radially below the bead portion and the carcass ply, and a second portion axially outward from the bead portion and the carcass ply, wherein the sidewall is located radially below the first portion of the chafer and axially outward from the second portion of the chafer. A sidewall gum strip extends radially upward from the second portion of the chafer. The sidewall gum strip is located axially between the carcass ply turn-up end and at least a portion of the chafer.

    Abstract: A pneumatic radial tire includes a bead filler, a carcass ply, a steel protection layer, and an organic fiber protection layer. A reinforcing rubber sandwiches a wind-up end of the steel protection layer. A relationship of 1≦A/B≦2 is satisfied between a width A from the wind-up end of the steel protection layer to a tire inner surface, and a width B from the wind-up end of the steel protection layer to a tire outer surface. The wind-up end of the carcass ply is covered with a ply cover member. A relationship of 0.8≦D/C≦1.2 is satisfied between a thickness C of a second bead filler positioning between the ply cover member and a first bead filler, and a thickness D of the reinforcing rubber positioning between the ply cover member and the steel protection layer.
