    摘要： The present invention provides a system which integrates motor vehicle component operation into actuators located in the rim of a motor vehicle steering wheel. The two actuators of the system of the present invention are located in an arc segment of the steering wheel defined by the three o'clock and 12 o'clock positions for the right-hand actuator and the nine o'clock and 12 o'clock positions for the left-hand actuator. The actuators may operate in parallel with a conventional stalk switch or controls associated with an on board computer and only operate a motor vehicle component when activated and subsequently depressed. The integrated vehicle control system and apparatus of the present invention further provides for vehicle component operation which does not require a driver to remove his or her hands from the steering wheel. Furthermore, the integrated vehicle control system and apparatus of the present invention when integrated with steering wheel and vehicle position detection systems provides a means to disengage an activated turn signal depending on the position of the steering wheel and/or the vehicle.

    摘要： A steering column switch with a warning flashing switch that overlaps a steering column spindle. There is a conductor plate perpendicular to the axis of the steering spindle with an actuating member for the actuation of a slider switch provided in the peripheral wall of the steering column switch. In an annular section of the conductor plate there are contact heads on either side of the plate. The slider has a circular, segment-shaped cross section and is parallel with the axis of the steering column switch, and shiftable perpendicular to the plane of the conductor plate. The slider carries several contact bridges which cooperate with the contact heads of the conductor plate. Contact bridges on the conductor plate are non-flexibly held and fixed to the slider and establish stop positions of the slider when the contact bridge engages the contact heads on the conductor plate.

    摘要： A combination turn-signal and hazard-warning system for operating the indicator lamps of a vehicle selectively or simultaneously, wherein fixed contacts for a hazard switch unit are mounted on the bottom side of an insulator plate and fixed contacts for a winker switch unit are mounted on the top side of the plate. A movable contact plate is disposed adjacent the bottom side of the insulator plate and is supported on a contact holder switch is movable between a turn-signal position and a hazard-warning position. When in the hazard-warning position, the movable contact plate causes energization of all indicator lamps irregardless of operation of the directional indicator switch. A further movable conductive member is disposed for engagement with the top-side contacts to permit selective energization of the lamps on one side of the vehicle.
