Abstract:
A plate for hindering the theft of a storage battery from a motor vehicle. Means is provided for securing a storage battery housing to a vehicle mounting structure in such a manner that the storage battery cannot be detached from the mounting structure which extends from the vehicle frame unless the vehicle is lifted up a sufficient distance from the ground so that a person can fit under the vehicle and disassemble the securing means from the underside of the vehicle. The securing means is provided by a holding plate which is bonded to the underside of the battery housing. The holding plate includes bolts or studs which depend from the bottom thereof and pass through holes in a battery cradle so that screws may be appropriately screwed up onto the bolts or studs from the underside of the battery cradle and in this manner have the battery fastened to battery cradle, which cradle in turn is part of the structure of the motor vehicle.

Abstract:
An assembly for protecting a passenger of a vehicle. The assembly includes a padded cushion and electrically activated means coupled to the cushion for moving the cushion toward a desired position and retracting the cushion from that position. The electrically activated means includes a motor gear meshed to a threaded shaft. The activated means also includes a threaded nut mechanically engaging the threaded shaft, which nut is attached to the frame of the cushion. Electric circuits are provided for activating the motor so as to turn the shaft in one direction causing the cushion to move to an extended horizontal position, and to turn the shaft in the opposite direction causing the cushion to retract from the extended horizontal position.
Abstract:
A vehicle seat belt starter motor interlock and sequential warning system including a source of electrical power. An ignition switch is provided and includes an ignition ''''on'''' terminal, a switch ''''off'''' terminal and an engine cranking motor terminal. Means electrically connects the source of power to either of said ignition ''''on'''' and switch ''''off'''' terminals or simultaneously to said ignition ''''on'''' and engine cranking motor terminal. A seat belt assembly includes a retractable belt. A warning means is provided as is an engine starting motor solenoid. The warning means is activated when the source of power is electrically connected to the switch ''''off'''' contact terminal and the belt is unretracted and is deactivated when the seat belt is retracted. The engine cranking motor terminal is connected to the engine motor solenoid only when the seat belt is unretracted.
Abstract:
A dual control hydraulic brake system for motor vehicles which includes a hydraulic master cylinder. A power operated means is provided for controlling the movement of said master cylinder piston rod in response to a brake pedal being depressed. If the power operated means is inoperative, means is provided so that when said brake pedal is depressed said hydraulic master cylinder piston rod is moved applying the vehicle brakes.
Abstract:
A system for controlling the tilting of the headlights on a vehicle. In one embodiment the tilting of the headlights is adjusted to compensate for sagging of the rear of the vehicle. In another embodiment means is provided for controlling the tilting of single filament headlights so that a ''''high tilt'''' or ''''low tilt'''' beam aim can be selectively achieved.
Abstract:
A platform includes a rear portion which extends slightly into the crevice between the front seat and the front seat back at the outboard passenger portion of the front seat and front seat back. A strap is provided and is looped about the passenger head restraint and maintains all but the rear portion of the platform above the front seat so that articles such as packages can be placed thereon without in any way affecting the motor vehicle ignition starter interlock system and seat belt warning system.
Abstract:
This is an assembly for protecting a passenger of a vehicle. The assembly includes a padded cushion and means coupled to said cushion for moving the cushion between the horizontal and vertical position. The moving means is hinged fastened to an abutment in front of passenger''s seat. The cushion is moved to the vertical position when the passenger is entering or exiting the seat, and is moved toward the horizontal position after the passenger is seated so that the end of the cushion is adjacent to the passenger''s body when he is seated. Means are provided for allowing the passenger to adjust the horizontal position of the cushion for his own comfort.
