摘要: Inflatable airbag for a vehicle which is deployed in the event of an accident involving the vehicle to provide protection for an occupant of the vehicle includes a plurality of ribbons coupled together to define an enclosed, fluid-retaining space and a layer of film laminated on at least one of an outer side of the woven ribbons and an inner side of the ribbons. The ribbons may be made from polypropylene, polyethylene, polyester or polyamide and the layers of film may be made from polyethylene, polyurethane, polyester or polyamide. The ribbons and layers of film may be made of the same or different materials.

摘要: A fabric for an air-bag is disclosed, the fabric being woven in a special pattern which comprises a plurality of fields (57-65), at least one of the fields (59) having a first weave pattern, and at least another of the fields (57) having a second weave pattern. The second weave pattern is relatively loosely-woven compared to the first weave pattern. The invention also relates to an air-bag formed using such a fabric, preferably in the region of one or more mounts of nine of the air-bag.

摘要: A polyester plain weave fabric construction wherein said fabric has a basis weight of between 150 to 300 g/m2 with tongue tear strength equal to or better than nylon fabrics of the same construction and weight. The present invention relates to both coated and uncoated polyester filament woven fabric. The uncoated fabric is useful for industrial purposes wherein the fabric has a warp tongue tear resistance of at least 0.75 N/g/m2, when the fabric basis weight is between 150 to 300 g/m2 The preferred uncoated polyester filament yarn has a linear density of between about 200 to about 800 dtex, a tenacity of at least 65 cN/tex, a tensile index of at least 350. The fabrics can be coated with chloroprene, neoprene, polyurethane, silicone or other organic coatings to reduce air permeability. The fabric of the present invention may also be constructed with the warp and/or filling yarn having an aspect ratio between 1.2 and 6.

摘要: An apparatus for helping to protect an occupant of a vehicle includes an airbag inflatable from a stored condition to a deployed condition in which the airbag is positioned to help protect the vehicle occupant. The airbag includes an extendable member comprising one or more slits formed in the airbag material. Each slit has a concave configuration defining an extendable portion of the extendable member that is movable relative to the remainder of the extendable member to extend the reach of the extendable member. According to one aspect, the extendable member can form a mounting tab for mounting the airbag in the vehicle. According to another aspect, the extendable member can form a wrapping structure for maintaining the airbag in a packaged condition for installation in the vehicle.

摘要: A safety airbag, including: an air bag, having an inflated and stowed state; and a gas generator, used to inflate the air bag to the inflated state, wherein the air bag includes a body portion and a cut-out portion, the cut-out portion being formed as being cut out from the air bag, but still remaining integral with the body portion, and in the inflated state, the cut-out portion being oriented in a predetermined direction relative to the body portion via an orienting member. Using the cut-out portion to provide protection for the head of an occupant increases the utilization rate of a material for making an air bag. In addition, the height of the airbag curtain is relatively large only at the cut-out portion, and is relatively small at the remaining positions, thereby reducing the volume of the air bag.

The diffusor section spans over the inflator opening and is connected with the back panel via a back panel connection having a first and second end point, such that the diffusor section has a first outlet region extending between the first and second end point and the back panel has a first outlet region extending between the first and second end point, such that a first gas outlet is formed between the first outlet region of the diffusor section and the first outlet region of the back panel. The tether section extends from a first end region connected to the diffusor section to a second end region connected to the front panel.

摘要: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a base fabric for an airbag and an airbag wherein the strength of sewn parts is high, pressure resistance is superior for an airbag during high-pressure deployment at high speeds, and pressure resistance can be maintained even after passage of time in heat. This base fabric for an airbag is characterized by being formed from woven polyamide fibers, and the retention of sewn part strength in the base fabric with heating before and after heat treatment for 400 hours at 140° C. being 70% or greater.
