Abstract: An image forming apparatus is provided. The image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit, a return-sheet conveyer unit to convey a recording sheet carried from the image forming unit along a return-sheet path to return to the image forming unit, an upper frame unit including a pair of side frames to support the image forming unit in a position there-between, and a pair of lower frames arranged to have a predetermined amount of clearance there-between to have the return-sheet conveyer unit in the clearance, and configured to be less rigid than the upper frame unit and to support lower sections of the pair of side frames. A vertical position of the return-sheet conveyer unit with respect to the image forming unit is defined with reference to the upper frame unit by having a part of the return-sheet conveyer unit aligned to be in contact with the upper frame unit.

Abstract: A roller retention device is provided for a barcode printer and includes a base and at least one peeling board, wherein the base is mounted to an enclosure of the barcode printer. The base has a front portion forming at least one first channel for accommodating a rear portion of a label sheet hold-down roller of the barcode printer. The first channel has a peripheral portion forming at least one connection segment. The peeling board has a rear portion forming a second channel which matches with the first channel in order to accommodate a front portion of the label sheet hold-down roller. Abstract: In a sheet conveying mechanism, a first bulging space and a second bulging space are provided on a downstream side and an upstream side, respectively, of a conveying path. Abstract: A connection device is provided for meshing of gears on disparate modules, such as those that form a mailing machine. A tongue having a rack can extend from a first module into a cavity formed in the second module. A spur gear is mounted to the second module and can engage the rack of the tongue received into the cavity. A mechanism controls movement of the first spur gear. The mechanism can include a drive gear meshed with the first spur gear and concentrically mounted on one end of a drive shaft with a worm gear mounted concentrically on an opposing end of the drive shaft. Rotation of the worm gear causes the spur gear and the drive gear to rotate and cause movement in the rack received into the cavity and separate or bring together the modules as a result of the movement in the rack.

An upper portion of that surface protrudes slightly toward the stack of sheets so that as the stack of sheets is raised, the leading edges of uppermost sheets in the stack of sheets bear against the upper portion of the guide plate to thereby help position the leading edges of the uppermost sheets perpendicular to the feed path so that they feed squarely into the laminating apparatus.
