Abstract:
In an image reading apparatus, the linear coefficients of expansion of conveyance drive rollers and a linear coefficient of expansion of the holding unit are determined such that the amount of change in the outer diameter of each of the conveyance drive rollers due to a change in temperature environment is substantially the same as the amount of change in the interval between the first reading unit and the second reading unit due to a change in the temperature environment. The conveyance drive rollers are attached to a rotary shaft such that the positions of head portions of screws are alternately located along the axis direction of the rotary shaft on opposite sides of the outer circumference surface in a direction perpendicular to the axis direction of the rotary shaft.

A sheet folder includes a blade for bending a sheet, a pair of folding rollers for sandwiching the sheet bent by the blade, a heating unit for heating a folded part of the sheet sandwiched between the pair of folding rollers by the blade, a temperature detection unit for detecting a temperature of the folded part, and a control unit for keeping a state in which the sheet is sandwiched between the pair of folding rollers until at least one of a temperature change and a temperature of the folded part that are detected by the temperature detection unit satisfies a prescribed condition after the blade allows the sheet to be sandwiched between the pair of folding rollers.
Abstract:
A sheet feeding device has: a sheet accommodating portion that accommodates a sheet stack of a plurality of sheets; a sheet carrying plate that is provided within the sheet accommodating portion and stacks the sheet stack thereon; a pickup roller that contacts an upper face of the sheet stack and dispatches a sheet on an uppermost layer of the sheet stack, an elevator mechanism that displaces the sheet carrying plate between a sheet feeding position in which the upper face of the sheet stack contacts the pickup roller, and a separating position in which the upper face of the sheet stack separates from the pickup roller by a predetermined distance; and a controller that controls an operation of the elevator mechanism such that the sheet carrying plate is lowered to the separating position after a sheet feeding operation for feeding a sheet at the sheet feeding position is completed.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming section which forms normal images on sheets sequentially based on normal image data and forms sample images on sheets based on sample image data; a discharge section which discharges normal image sheets in a stack which are sheets on which the normal images were formed and sample image sheets which are sheets on which the sample images were formed; and a control section which is configured to control at least one of the image forming section and the discharge section to discharge the normal image sheets in the stack and the sample image sheets to the discharge section so as to enable timings at which the sample image sheets were discharged to be appreciated in the stacked normal image sheets.
Abstract:
Occurrence of improper sheet-feeding of sheets is reduced. A sheet stacking section is lifted by an amount that is larger when a sheet-feed retry is performed than when an ordinary lifting operation is performed.
Abstract:
A feeding apparatus including a feeding roller for conveying a sheet, a separation roller for conveying the sheet in a reverse direction, a transmission mechanism for transmitting the rotational force to the feeding roller, a limited force reverse transmission mechanism for transmitting the rotational force to the separation roller through a torque limiter, a forced reverse transmission mechanism for directly transmitting the rotational force to the separation roller, a temperature detector and a controller, wherein the controller controls the separation roller to receive rotational force through the forced reverse transmission mechanism after the limited force reverse transmission mechanism transmits the rotational force to the separation roller, then allows the limited force reverse transmission mechanism to transmit the rotational force to the separation roller, or to rotate the feeding via the transmission mechanism and the limited force transmission mechanism to transmit the rotational force to the separation roller.
Abstract:
A duplicate feeding detection device for use with sheet-like members may include a control part for controlling an ultrasonic transmission part, a duplicate feeding judging part for judging duplicate feeding of the sheet-like members on a basis of an output from an ultrasonic receiving part, a temperature measuring part for measuring temperature of a vicinity of the ultrasonic transmission part, and a memory part in which a relationship between an oscillation frequency of the ultrasonic transmission part and a temperature is stored. The control part sets an oscillation frequency corresponding to a temperature which is measured by the temperature measuring part on a basis of the relationship between the oscillation frequency and the temperature stored in the memory part.

The invention relates to devices and apparatus for web guiding and cooling of webs during thin-film forming. A guiding device for contact-free guiding a web is provided with the device having a surface for facing the web and a multitude of gas outlets disposed in the surface and adapted for providing a hover cushion for the web. Further, an apparatus for coating a web and a method for contact-free guiding a web is provided that comprises moving the web over a surface and emitting a multitude of gas streams from the surface, thereby generating a hover cushion between the surface and the web. Further, a method for producing a thin-film solar cell is provided that comprises a method for contact-free guiding a web according to embodiments described herein. The method for producing a thin-film solar cell further comprises depositing a back contact on the web and depositing a transparent and conductive oxide layer.
Abstract:
Sheet separation, feeding and printing with reduced image deletions of various types of print media sheets from a stack thereof, especially coated print media sheets with high humidity adhesion difficulties, is assisted by a sheet air puffer for a sheet separator/feeder having an automatically variably heated air supply. This may be accomplished by electronically obtaining information on the selected type of print media sheets to be fed from the sheet separator/feeder, and the ambient conditions, including at least the humidity, and by combining that information in an electronic look-up table additionally provided with set points to produce a control signal for variable air puffer temperature and strength.
