摘要: A sheet conveyance apparatus includes a sheet conveyance unit, a double feeding detection unit, a first sheet detection unit, and a control unit. The double feeding detection unit detects double feeding with respect to a sheet. The control unit controls a conveyance speed of a sheet conveyed by the sheet conveyance unit at a first speed and a second speed which is slower than the first speed and at which the sheet is in motion. The control unit controls the sheet conveyance unit to decelerate the conveyance speed of a sheet conveyed by the sheet conveyance unit from the first speed to the second speed based on a detection result of the first sheet detection unit. The control unit controls the double feeding detection unit to execute a double feeding detecting operation with respect to the sheet that is conveyed at the second speed by the sheet conveyance unit.

摘要: A medium feeding device includes: multiple transporters each including a stacking unit on which a medium is stackable in a vertical direction, a feeder that feeds air to multiple media, each of which is the medium, stacked on the stacking unit to cause the multiple media to float and separate, a delivery unit that successively delivers the media floated and separated by the feeder, and a detector that detects a state of the medium floated and separated by the feeder; and at least one processor configured to: upon detection of a state of possibility of jam or multi feeding of the medium by the detector of one of the multiple transporters during transport, switch to another transporter at a predetermined timing to feed the medium; and upon detection of the state of possibility of jam or multi feeding of the medium by the detector, change an amount of air feed by the feeder of the one transporter before being switched.

A medium conveying apparatus includes a conveying module to convey a medium, a detection module to detect transmission information of ultrasonic waves transmitted through the medium or thickness information of the medium at a plurality of positions in the medium conveyed by the conveying module, a determination module to determine whether multi-feed of the medium has occurred, by comparing a value based on the transmission information or the thickness information with a threshold, for each of the plurality of positions, and a control module to execute an abnormality process when it is determined that multi-feed of the medium has occurred. The determination module changes a determination sensitivity of whether multi-feed of the medium has occurred, according to a position in the medium at which the transmission information or the thickness information has been detected by the detection module.

摘要: A sheet feeding device includes a conveyance rotator, a separation rotator, a torque applier, a torque control circuit, and a torque transmission switcher. The conveyance rotator conveys a sheet in a sheet feeding direction. The separation rotator sandwiches the sheet together with the conveyance rotator. The torque applier applies a reverse torque to the separation rotator in a sheet reversing direction to reverse the sheet. The torque control circuit controls the reverse torque applied to the separation rotator to be equal to or less than a given value. The torque transmission switcher switches, between a transmission state and a non-transmission state, a state of a torque transmission path between the torque applier and the separation rotator. The transmission state is a state in which the reverse torque is transmitted. The non-transmission state is a state in which the reverse torque is not transmitted.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an accommodation unit, feeding, conveying, and separating members, and detecting, control, image forming, and regulating units. The conveying member conveys a fed recording material. The separating member forms a nip and separates recording materials. The detecting unit detects that the recording material has been fed to the nip. The feeding member starts feeding an accommodated recording material and, where a recording material is fed to the nip, causes the feeding to be finished. An image is formed on a fed recording material. The regulating unit regulates an end on an upstream side. The control unit measures a period from a recording material feeding to detection that a recording material is fed to the nip. Based on the measured period, information is output indicating that a position of the regulating unit is deviated from a position according to a size of the accommodated recording materials.

摘要: In a method for handling sheet goods, in particular value documents, such as bank notes, in an apparatus for processing sheet goods, such as a bank-note machine, sheet goods are removed from a container for sheet goods that is inserted in the apparatus, through an output opening of the container, checked for further processability, and in the case of a negative check result returned into the container through an input opening of the container that is separate from the output opening. The container has a pressing device for exerting a pressure on the sheet goods in the direction of the output opening, wherein the pressing device is displaceable along the height of the container such that sheet goods are both outputtable from a sheet-goods region of the container through the output opening and inputtable back into the sheet-goods region through the input opening.
