    摘要: A process for stably and efficiently producing quality glass articles such as preforms at high yields, and a process for producing an optical device from the preform obtained by the above process. In the process for producing a glass article, molten glass gobs having a predetermined weight each are poured, or molten glass drops having a predetermined weight each are dropped through a nozzle, into a boiling liquid having a boiling point lower than the glass transition temperature of the glass constituting said glass article or a liquid which is temperature-adjusted beforehand so as to be caused to boil by the amount of heat of the glass, to form glass articles. In the process for producing an optical device, a preform obtained by the above process is softened by heating and precision-press-molded into the optical device.

    摘要: An apparatus for vitrifying blast furnace slag, which comprises:an endless conveyor belt formed by endlessly connecting a plurality of rectangular cooling metal members, each of said cooling metal members having a plurality of narrow and deep cooling grooves on the outer surface thereof for rapidly cooling and solidifying a molten blast furnace slag into a vitreous blast furnace slag; a driving means for travelling said endless conveyor belt; a molten slag container, arranged above the upstream of the upper forwarding position of said endless conveyor belt, for pouring a molten blast furnace slag into said cooling grooves; a stripper arranged, in the upstream of the lower returning position of said endless conveyor belt, at a prescribed position adjacent to the back surface of said endless conveyor belt, for taking out a cooled and solidified vitreous blast furnace slag in said cooling grooves; and, a cooling means arranged at a prescribed position in the lower returning position of said endless conveyor belt, for sequentially cooling said cooling metal members heated by the high-temperature molten blast furnace slag poured into said cooling grooves.

    摘要: The invention relates to an optical converter system for LEDs, preferably for so-called (W)LEDs, and a method for producing the named optical converter system. The modular-type optical converter system comprises an inorganic converter for converting the radiation emitted from the LED, an inorganic optical component, preferably comprising glass, which is disposed downstream relative to the converter in the direction of emission of the LED, wherein the converter and the first optical component are adjacent to one another and joined at least in sections. The optical converter system possesses a temperature resistance, which lies above that of the system known in the prior art. Also, the preferred components of the system are substantially resistant to UV and to chemicals.

A smallest radius of curvature in the preform is smaller than a radius of a globular member having a volume equal to that of the preform. In this fabricating method, -an abutment portion between the molding die and the preform is located at a curved surface or the center of the molding die, thereby preventing any local abutment of the preform against the molding die.
