According to the melting method of the tin-plated iron scrap of the present invention, exhaust gas of high heat generation amount can be recovered while producing pig iron with low Sn content usable for the production of high quality steels by one furnace, without adding a preliminary Sn-removing processing step or molten metal mixing step and without using expensive electric power, by one furnace. Further, an exhaust gas dust in which SnO.sub.2 is concentrated can be utilized effectively as an Sn source.     摘要: A method of steelmaking in an at least partially refractory lined furnace. The process includes the steps of retaining a portion of a hot liquid slag from a previous heat, and altering the retained slag with basic slag forming material to increase its basicity, melting temperature, and viscosity, and to reduce its melting temperature below the melting point. The altering step is performed before charging ferrous materials for a new heat. Altered slag is then positioned on the bottom of the furnace, or on the furnace walls, or both, using a slag coating technique. Ferrous metal is then charged, after which a second charge of basic slag forming materials may be added prior to and/or during the first controllable oxygen blow. A slagging off step is conducted after less than one-half of the oxygen is introduced into the heat and when the mass of oxygen already introduced is sufficient to oxidize approximately all of the silicon introduced with hot liquid metal charged into the furnace.

    摘要: A method for distributing, drying and heating a selected mix and weight of metals prior to melting in a furnace, including the steps of placing weights of selected metals in a feeder car according to a predetermined distribution, locating the feeder car beneath the hood of a heater, closing the hood over the car, heating the enclosed metal and transferring the preheated metal from the car to a charge bucket for a furnace. An apparatus is disclosed which includes a feeder car movable between a loading station and a heating and dumping station. A weigh hopper is used for measuring and distributing the selected weights and mix of metals which are then loaded in the feeder car. A hood is adapted to close over the feeder car and seal thereto after which a heater is provided to inject heat through the hood into the enclosed car. A vibratory conveyor is provided which moves the preheated metals from the feeder car into a charge bucket for a furnace.
