    摘要: A handle assembly for preventing inadvertent opening of a motor vehicle door during a crash event. The handle assembly includes an activation mechanism coupled to an electrically-activated leg. When the activation mechanism is activated, then the electrically-activated leg is moved to an engaged position to engage an actuation pawl to prevent rotation of the actuation pawl so that, upon actuation of a handle strap, the actuation pawl engages and actuates the door latch release. However, if the activation mechanism is not activated, then the leg does not engage the pawl, and a movement of the handle strap does not actuate the door latch release as the pawl is permitted to rotate.

An inertial lever is provided on the first lever and is pivotable about an axis (X3) from an initial position when an inertial force is applied thereto. A transmitting portion is provided on the second lever and transmits the pivotal movement of the first lever to the second lever when the inertial lever is disposed in its initial position. In contrast, the transmitting portion does not transmit the pivotal movement of the first lever to the second lever when the inertial lever has been pivoted away from its initial position. A first axial center of pivotal movement of the first lever and a second axial center of pivotal movement of the second lever are coaxial axial centers of pivotal movement (X1).

    摘要: A method and system for disengaging a drive rod in a door after an impact to the door. An automobile having a door with a door handle, a drive rod, a latching system, a striker, and a drive rod striking member. The drive rod striking member can be positioned adjacent the drive rod. Upon impact to the door, the drive rod is disengaged from the door handle and/or the latching system through inertia, through the drive rod striking member impacting the drive rod, or through any other disengagement mechanisms. The drive rod striking member prevents the drive rod from re-engaging with the latching system. The disengagement of the drive rod prevents the drive rod from controlling the latching system to disengage from the striker, either through deformation of the door, or through actuations by the door handle.

    摘要: An impact protection system is provided for a door of a motor vehicle and extends between upright door frames of a door body. On one side the impact protection system is connected with a hinge column by way of hinges and, on the other side, adjacent to a lock of the door, is connected with an additional column. The hinge column and additional column are integrated in a body structure of a body of the motor vehicle. In order to optimize this impact protection system, the lock is mounted on the latter and, in the closed condition of the door, an engaging device of the door interacts with a receiving device of a deformation device which is fastened to the additional column of the vehicle body structure.
