Abstract: A closure system may include a closure movable between an extended state and a retracted state. The closure may be configured to at least partially obstruct an opening in the extended state and allow access through the opening in the retracted state. The closure may include a first portion and a second portion opposite the first portion. The closure may deflect by a first deflection distance when a vertical force is applied to the closure. The closure system may include a strap coupled to the first portion of the closure. The closure with the strap coupled thereto may deflect by a second deflection distance when the vertical force is applied to the closure. The first deflection distance may be at least 100 percent more than the second deflection distance.

Abstract: A pet door system is provided including a casing configured to attach the pet door system to a building and a flexible door attached to the casing. In some embodiments, the door is segmented and comprises a plurality of interlocking segments that are rotatable with respect to each other. In some embodiments, the pet door system further includes a rotating cylinder attached to the flexible door and rotatably connected to the casing and a motor comprising a gear head, where the gear head is attached to the rotating cylinder, such that when the motor is activated, the gear head is rotatable in a first direction to wind the flexible door around the rotating cylinder. In some embodiments, the pet door system may be operated by a pet-worn collar and/or may be remotely controlled via a mobile device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a roller shutter in which a slat connection structure is very flexible so as to reduce manufacturing and maintenance costs. The roller shutter of the present invention comprises: a plurality of slats continuously connected in the vertical direction; a winding unit for winding or unwinding the plurality of slats in the vertical direction; a shutter box arranged above a door frame of a building; and a guide frame for guiding the edges of the plurality of slats. The winding unit is arranged inside the shutter box. The plurality of slats are connected in the vertical direction such that the slats can be pivoted. One end of each slat has a hook, and the hook is curved with a predetermined radius of curvature. The other end of each slat has an accommodation groove curved at a predetermined radius of curvature. The hook of one slat is accommodated in the accommodation groove of another slat adjacent to said slat such that the hook is movable in the circumferential direction, thus enabling said slat and the other slat adjacent thereto in the vertical direction to pivot relative to one another. The hook has an inner surface and an outer surface. The accommodation groove has a first inner surface, a second inner surface, a closed surface, and an opening. The radius of the second inner surface of the accommodation groove is larger than that of the first inner surface. The first inner surface extends in the circumferential direction so as to form a cylinder. The inner surface of the hook and the first inner surface of the accommodation groove have the same radius, and the outer surface of the hook and the second inner surface of the accommodation groove have the same radius.

Abstract: A slat for use in a rolling shutter is provided. The slat comprises a engaging track located at a first edge of a body and a receiving track located at a second edge of the body. Illustratively, the engaging track has a hook-shaped profile, and the receiving track comprises a lip member and a guard member defining a space adapted to receive therein an engaging track of an adjacent slat. The engaging track and the receiving track are designed to minimize the space required for the rolling shutter to be retracted around a spindle.

Abstract: A hinged panel door comprises a plurality of thermoplastic panels each having a main body with an outside wall, an inside wall, an open ended female receptacle formed centrally in one end and a male receptacle protruding centrally from the other end of the main body. The male connector has a rounded head and a neck joining the head to a shoulder on the main body of the panel. Both the head and the shoulder are wider than the neck.
