    摘要： Downhole rotary steerable drill including a drilling shaft rotatably supported within a housing, the drilling shaft and housing each having a longitudinal axis. The drill can include a releasable locking mechanism for rotationally locking and releasing the drilling shaft relative to the housing, the releasable locking mechanism transitionable between locked and released configurations. The releasable locking mechanism includes a sliding plunger coupled to the housing by a coupling that permits longitudinal reciprocation of the sliding plunger relative to the housing and prevents rotation of the sliding plunger relative to the housing. The releasable locking mechanism can also include pressure-responsive piston that reciprocates between an unactuated configuration and actuated configuration in response to applied pressure from a pressuring pump.

    摘要： A work string assembly for an oil or gas well has a first and second tubulars, and a torque limiting device connected in the work string. The torque limiting device has a body with an axial bore and two interconnected members that can disconnect to be relatively rotatable. The interconnected members can be repeatedly re-engageable when the torque levels drop below a torque threshold value, or can be connected by a frangible member that is broken when the interconnected members disconnect. A selectively actuable circulation port provided in the string adjacent to and above the torque limiting device allows the annulus between the work string and the casing to be flushed with fluid from the port.

    摘要： Apparatuses and methods for controlling the connection speed of downhole connectors in a subterranean well are disclosed. An apparatus includes a first assembly having a first downhole connector and a first communication medium that is positionable in the well. A second assembly includes a second downhole connector and a second communication medium and has an outer portion and an inner portion that are selectively axially shiftable relative to one another. A lock assembly including at least one lug initially couples the outer and inner portions of the second assembly together such that, upon engagement of the first assembly with the second assembly downhole, the lug is radially shifted releasing the lock assembly to allow axial shifting of the outer portion of the second assembly relative to the inner portion of the second assembly, thereby operatively connecting the first and second downhole connectors to enable communication between the communication media.
