摘要: An apparatus for transferring torque comprising a pipe handling assembly configured to use fluid pressure to provide torque forces to set or release slips from a pipe. Set down force or other frictional measures on a pipe collar are not required. A method to create reactive torque force comprising a series of gears interconnected with each other through a clutch that can be engaged and disengaged. A link may be provided to a top drive rail via a gripperbox which provides reactive force to stop rotation of a power screw female (threaded nut) to facilitate threading action to set or release slips on pipe. Reactive force may be created using a plurality of axial pistons attached to a moveable half of a hirth coupling. Other friction-creating members (such as, for example, a brake pad material or similar material) may be used to create frictional forces between two surfaces.

摘要: An apparatus for cutting sections of a wellbore tubular includes a housing shaped to enable movement along an interior of the tubular. The housing has an upper end arranged to connect to a conveyance and a lower end comprising a guide. Cutting materials are disposed in the housing and arranged to cut the wellbore tubular in two, longitudinally spaced apart circumferential cuts and at least one longitudinal cut extending between the circumferential cuts. The cutting materials are arranged to create the circumferential cuts simultaneously or with a time delay chosen to optimize energy created when cutting. A method for cutting wellbore tubulars includes positioning the apparatus at a selected position in the wellbore and actuating the cutting materials.

摘要: A gripper mechanism for a downhole tool is disclosed that includes an eccentric linkage mechanism. In operation, an axial force generated by a power section of the gripper expands the linkage mechanism, which applies a radial force to the interior surface of a wellbore or passage. A sliding portion allows the gripper to slide along a surface of the formation in response to the radial force applied to the interior surface of the wellbore or passage.

摘要: A method for excavating a well cellar includes lowering an excavating apparatus having a cellar liner therein to a bottom of a body of water. The well cellar is excavated while contemporaneously lowering the cellar liner into the well cellar until a top of the cellar liner is substantially level with the bottom of the body of water. A pilot well is excavated below a bottom of the cellar. A well head support pipe is inserted into the pilot well. The bottom of the well cellar and a top of the cellar liner are covered.

摘要: An apparatus for use in a borehole may include a rotor having at least one set of magnetic elements and a cylindrical stator having a winding flowing current in a direction transverse to a long axis of the stator. The polarity of each magnetic element of the rotor may be arranged to alternate along a long axis of the rotor. The stator may be in sliding engagement with the rotor and have a core formed at least partially of laminations aligned along a plane co-planar with the long axis of the stator. Energizing the winding principally causes relative sliding between the rotor and the stator. A method for performing an operation in a borehole includes forming a well tool having at least one linear motor as described above, conveying the linear motor into the borehole, and operating a well tool by activating the linear motor.

The electric motor transmits power by the soft shaft and the right angle speed reducer to drive the bit to rotate, the transmission efficiency is higher.

摘要: A gripper assembly for anchoring a tool within a downhole passage and for possibly assisting movement of the tool within the passage. The gripper assembly includes an elongated mandrel and flexible toes that can be radially displaced to grip onto the surface of the passage. The toes are displaced by the interaction of a driver slidable on the mandrel and a driver interaction element on the toes. In one embodiment, the toes are displaced by the interaction of rollers and ramps that are longitudinally movable with respect to one another. In another embodiment, the toes are displaced by the interaction of toggles that rotate with respect to the toes.
