    摘要: A cylinder cooling system for aircraft engines is disclosed in which an air intake leads to multiple air chambers and the air is divided among the air chambers, which lead to the cylinders of the engine. In this way, approximately equal amounts of air of approximately the same temperature are able to pass over each cylinder, thereby providing more even cooling, resulting in more efficient engine performance. In addition, the cylinder cooling system is easily removable to access the engine spark plugs and fuel injectors for inspection and routine maintenance while not requiring the spark plug wiring or fuel lines to be disassembled in any way.

    摘要: An air flow guide/diverter is disclosed for mounting to a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine. The air diverter directs cooling air to multiple locations on the cylinder head. The air diverter includes a main diverter shield having a proximal end extending from a cooling source to a distal end extending to the rear of the internal combustion engine. The air diverter includes a first arcuate member attached to the main diverter shield between the proximal end and the distal end of the main diverter shield, and a second arcuate member connected to the main diverter shield near the distal end of the main diverter shield. The air flow guide creates multiple channels of air to provide more efficient cooling with little added cost.

    摘要: A air shroud for cylinder and cylinder head assemblies of air-cooled compressors and engines of the type having a cooling air fan for producing an axial flow of cooling air and an array of cylinder and cylinder head assemblies arranged in the path of the axial flow and extending radially relative to the axis of said flow. In particular, the shroud has a flow channel portion of a polygonal segment shape which wraps around the periphery of the array of cylinder and cylinder head assemblies and forms an air channel from the cooling air fan to the cylinder and cylinder head assemblies and which is fastened atop each of the cylinder and cylinder head assemblies. In order to increase the quantity and rate of flow of cooling air over the cylinder and cylinder head assemblies while increasing the surface area of the assemblies washed by the cooling air, fins are provided depending from the flow channel portion of the shroud at a point between 50 to 90% of the distance across the cylinder and cylinder head assemblies viewed in the airflow direction, each of the fins blocking an open area between adjacent cylinder and cylinder head assemblies in a manner creating an airflow orifice gap about its perimeter between the fin and the adjcent cylinder and cylinder head assemblies.
