Abstract: A two-stroke engine comprises a first oiling system and a second oiling system. The first oiling system includes a low-pressure pump that distributes oil from a first oil tank to the two-stroke engine. The second oiling system includes a pump mechanically coupled to a crankshaft of the two-stroke engine, wherein the pump distributes oil from a second oil tank to an accessory at a pressure greater than the first oil pressure, wherein oil distributed to the accessory is returned to the second oil tank.

Abstract: A heat management system for air-cooled engines suitable to power yard care equipment or vehicles. The system may generally comprise an engine, a blower configured to blow ambient cooling air across the engine, and an exhaust system comprising an exhaust header and a muffler. The exhaust header has an inlet end which receives heated exhaust gas from the engine and an outlet end fluidly coupled to the muffler. An air control baffle is configured to redirect a portion of the cooling air from the blower towards the exhaust header and the muffler to enhance cooling the exhaust system. The system may further include an outermost protective shield exposed to equipment operators and an inner heat barrier or shield located between the muffler and protective shield. The system is designed to ameliorate both radiative and convective sources of heat transfer to maintain the protective shield at temperatures below established industry standards.

A fan and a cover acting as a duct directs engine heat forward away from a rider when the motorcycle engine is hot and the motorcycle is stopped. When the motorcycle is in motion the fan is switched off and the passing air takes a reversed path and flows rearward over the engine fins cooling the engine.

Abstract: An engine-powered work tool includes an engine having a crank shaft, an output controller and a wind governor. The output controller includes an output control shaft angularly rotatable about its axis for controlling a rotation speed of the crank shaft. The wind governor can control the angular rotation of the output control shaft and includes: a governor plate for receiving cooling air generated at a cooling fan connected to the crank shaft; an arm fixed to the output control shaft; and a governor spring connected to the arm for biasing the output control shaft to increase the rotation speed of the crank shaft. The governor plate functions to bias the output control shaft to decrease the rotation speed of the crank shaft upon receipt of the cooling air. The governor spring has an end changeable in position relative to the output controller among a plurality of prescribed positions.

Abstract: A convex fan shroud for use with an automotive engine cooling system having a fan and a fan-cooled, liquid-to-air radiator is disclosed. The convex fan shroud has an optimized shape that leads to high air flow rates through the radiator. The convex fan shroud includes a front frame that defines an air-intake opening, a convex top wall connected to the frame, a convex bottom wall connected to the frame, and a pair of opposed convex side walls connected to the frame and to the top and bottom walls. The interior surfaces of the walls are smooth. The convex walls define a barrel-shaped shroud body that includes a round engine-facing opening to accommodate the fan. In addition to generating a higher flow rate, the disclosed inventive concept for a smooth convex fan shroud is relatively low cost to produce and has a relatively high degree of rigidity.

Abstract: An air-cooled engine includes a cylinder provided with a plurality of cooling fins at an outer peripheral surface of the cylinder, a cooling fan, a cylinder cover covering the cylinder, an air guide plate, and an air guide portion. Abstract: The cooling effect of an engine is improved. An engine, which rotationally drives a saw chain serving as a rotating tool, is provided with a crankcase, in which a crankshaft is rotatably built, and a cylinder, in which a piston coupled to the crankshaft via a connecting rod is reciprocatably built. Atop part of the cylinder is covered with a cylinder cover, and a cooling wind toward the cylinder is generated by a cooling fan attached to a projecting end of the crankshaft. The cooling wind is guided by heat-dissipating plates extending along the crankshaft. Exposing parts bulged to outside than a lateral side of the cylinder cover are provided to tips of the heat-dissipating plates.
