    Abstract: A sampling device having at least two inputs each configured to receive samples from a corresponding feedstock input line and a sample accumulator. The device also includes a mass flow controller associated with each feedstock input line, each mass flow controller having a sample output and being configured to receive a signal representative of the flow rate at each input, where each mass flow controller adjusts the flow rate of its respective sample from its respective sample output in response to receiving representative signals. Further the device includes at least a first and second sample output line respectively connected with a sample output of each mass flow controller, each sample output line being connected to an input of the sample accumulator for introduction to the sample accumulator of samples from the output of the mass flow controllers.

    Abstract: A system for on-stream sampling of pressurized process gas such as natural gas or the like, said system optimized for use with pressurized process gas having liquid entrained therein, or otherwise referenced as “wet”. In the preferred embodiment, the probe tip is situated laterally from one side of the inner pipe wall to the other so as to span the entire inner diameter (ID) of the pipe, the probe tip having formed along its outer surface sample collection slot along the length of said outer surface, providing a “linear sample” of the fluid flow of the entire breadth of the flow, providing an accurate sample of even disassociated flow with entrained liquid particles and flow. Embodiments for continuous sampling, batch mode, spot sampling are provided, as well as an anti-vibration feature.

    Abstract: Minute particles in a gas generated in a particle generating unit are charged by a charging unit. A concentrating unit concentrates charged particles in an introduced gas, and a collecting unit absorbs and collects the concentrated charged particles on a sample plate by an electrostatic force. In the concentrating unit, the charged particles are concentrated by decreasing a flow rate of a gas (carrier gas) in which particles are dispersed while maintaining the number of introduced charged particles. When the flow rate of the gas decreases, and spatial density of the particles increases, it is possible to efficiently collect charged particles on the small sample plate in the collecting unit, and to shorten a collection time.

    Abstract: Composite sampling of a fluid flowing through a conduit includes collecting, in a vessel coupled to the conduit through which the fluid is flowing, a first discrete sample of fluid from the conduit, the first discrete sample having a first selected volume, and collecting, in the vessel and at a first interval from the first sample, a second discrete sample of the fluid from the conduit, the second discrete sample having a second selected volume, thereby forming a composite sample in the vessel while the vessel is coupled to conduit. The composite sample includes the first discrete sample and the second discrete sample, and may include one or more additional discrete samples. An apparatus for collecting the composite sample includes a gas chromatograph, and is arranged such that the composite sample is provided to the gas chromatograph without removing the composite sample from the apparatus or transporting the composite sample.

    Abstract: A sampling device uses two ball valves that may be operated to take a sample while allowing flow to continue in a bypass path in a pressurized pipe. As one ball valve closes, it may capture a sample of liquid and gas that may be traveling in the pipe, then the sample may be discharged through a sampling outlet. The second ball valve may be operated simultaneously to open a bypass path while the first ball valve captures a sample. In some cases, the speed of actuation may be a function of the flow speed to capture an accurate sample. In other cases, the length of pipe from the sampling valve to the bypass junction may determine the effectiveness of the sample when actuation speed is relatively slow.
