Abstract: Disclosed herein is an air collecting device (1) for a dust measuring system, the air collecting device (1) comprising: a housing (2) defining a first chamber (21) and a second chamber (22); an air inlet structure (3) opening into the first chamber (21) and being configured for providing an incoming air stream from the outside environment into the first chamber (21); an air outlet structure (4) configured for expelling air from the first chamber (21) and/or the second chamber (22); an adapter structure (5), the adapter structure (5) being configured for being connected with a dust sensor assembly, wherein the adapter structure (5) comprises a fluidic connection to the first chamber (21) and a fluidic connection to the second chamber (22); and a connecting portion (23) establishing a fluidic connection between the first chamber (21) and the second chamber (22); wherein the first chamber (21) and the second chamber (22) are partially separated by a separator wall (24); and wherein the first chamber (21) and/or the air inlet structure (3) are configured such that the incoming air stream is guided at least partially towards the adapter structure (5) and wherein the second chamber (22) is configured such that an air stream entering the second chamber (22) from the adapter structure (5) passes the second chamber (22) and is then guided into the first chamber (21) via the connecting portion (23).

Abstract: Devices and methods for capture of target particles in a flow. There is a plurality of flow rate-reducing structures in a flow chamber, each structure including a trapping surface shaped to reduce flow rate in a vicinity of the trapping surface. Reduced flow rate in the vicinity of the trapping surface is non-zero and has a magnitude lower than that of flow rate in other regions of the flow chamber. The reduced flow rate is sufficiently low for an attraction force acting on the target particles to overcome drag force on the target particles, to promote capture of particles in the vicinity of the trapping surface. The device may exhibit different sorting zones for capturing particles that experience different amounts and/or types of attraction force. The device may enable sorting of cells according to their level of display of specific protein surface markers.

Abstract: A particulate matter detection system has a particulate matter detection sensor, a current detection part and a control circuit part. The particulate matter detection sensor has an accumulation part, a pair of electrodes and a heater part. The control circuit part performs switching of a detection mode and a burning mode. When the burning mode being switched to the detection mode, the control circuit part supplies a lower voltage between the pair of electrodes, which is lower than an usual voltage used in the detection mode, and detects a current detected by the current detection part as the offset value ΔI. In the detection mode, the control circuit part subtracts the offset value ΔI from the detected current value to correct the detected current value.
