    摘要: Optical circuit switches and switching methods are described. An optical circulator may form a first plurality of bidirectional optical beams from a first plurality of input optical beams and a corresponding first plurality of output optical beams. Each bidirectional optical beam may consist of the corresponding input optical beam and the corresponding output optical beam overlaid to follow, in opposing directions, a common optical path. A mirror array may be disposed to reflect the first plurality of bidirectional optical beams. A reflector may be disposed to intercept bidirectional optical beams reflected from the mirror array and to reflect at least some of the intercepted bidirectional optical beams back to the mirror array.

    摘要: An optical fiber connector includes a circular polarizer, an optical electrical converter, and a transceiving module. The circular polarizer receives external optical signals from an optical fiber and divides the received optical signals into first optical signals and second optical signals. The optical electrical converter converts the first optical signals into first electrical signals. The transceiving module receives third electrical signals from ports of an optical communication device, and includes an optical electrical converting circuit and an electrical optical converting circuit. The optical electrical converting circuit converts the second optical signals into second electrical signals and transmits the second electrical signals to the optical communication device. The electrical optical converting circuit converts the third electrical signals into third optical signals and transmits the third optical signals to the optical fiber. The first electrical signals are used to drive the transceiving module.

    摘要: A high power (HP) fiber circulator is configured with a case enclosing a plurality of optical components which are arranged so as to define multiple ports. The fiber circulator further includes a plurality of launching and receiving fiber components each of which has spliced delivery and pigtailed passive fibers selectively coupling a HP input signal into and receiving a HP output signal from respective input and output ports. The passive fibers of each fiber component have respective protective coatings spaced from one another and each covering the cladding of the fibers. A light stripper, extending between the protective coatings, is operative to substantially remove cladding-supported light from one of the passive fibers before it reaches the protective coating of the other passive fiber. At least one of the ports includes a wavelength selective component configured to direct the HP input light beam along the desired path between the ports and including a fiber Bragg grating, volume Bragg grating or a combination of these.
